Nothing to tempt me there, I'm afraid. But I'm certain you chaps will love it.
Have you got a Aston Martin? This event looks spectacular!
Indeed. I asked a very simple question and have had a reply. In fact there have been many replies including one from the organiser. Strange thing is the replies have contained some ridiculously passive aggressive comments all from a bunch of people who say how welcoming and friendly the event is.
Go figure.

So, um, what is the "main event"? Is it standing in a field looking at cars that all look the same?
I imagine it was the slightly provocative tone of your original post, tinged with sarcasm, rather than the question itself. Perhaps a simple "What goes on chaps?" would have garnered a different response? Of course I could be wrong. Impasse said:

No, you asked a leading question , you are either trolling, nasty, provoking or simple Go figure.
The answers given were in the manor of how your question was asked, post friendly posts and I guarantee you will have friendly respectful answers
You reap what you sow
I am sure you won't be missed, as the meets are full of like minded people enjoying themselves and raising some money for charity too
Go figure
Looking forward to it ed I am sure it will be a great day

Unless they have lived a very sheltered life, I suspect most on here have heard the accusation of all Astons looking alike and standing in a field has been confirmed as the main event. This is something we have all done in the past whether with Astons or some other marque, so I would hope an element of self deprecation would be present. Perhaps that's too much to ask. Having said that, I did enjoy Ken's amusing riposte of a picture of an Austin Seven Special parked on a well groomed beach.Yes, there are subsidiary things going on but these seem to have more of a social aspect to them but unfortunately given the antisocial tone of many posters I suspect it's only for those within the inner circle clique where in-jokes are repeated and "Like Minded People" titter together. How very typical of this part of PH.
I hope you all have a wonderful time and the weather holds out for you. I'll take a cursory glance at any photos as this would seem to be the best method of viewing this type of PH event.

Ed, the Saturday evening dinner was great fun.
Why don't you get the hotel to organise it,after all they are benefiting from our custom.
They can post up the menu choice,as before, then we can phone or email the hotel and pay them direct.
I don't mind trying to arrange that.
Sounds like a cracking idea, get the hotel to do the work! I am booked in at the George too, got in early as missed out last year! Why don't you get the hotel to organise it,after all they are benefiting from our custom.

Horts
I've briefly spoken with the George about a group meal again, although at this stage I'm unsure that I would have the time to organise it as it was just so time consuming with everything else going on last time.
Their response was that they can seat 70,which is the limit into the Oak Panelled dining room.
But to have that looked into we would need to have all 70 covers as residents in the Hotel.
With that statement in mind that would rule out others from near by Hotels who like last time might have enjoyed joining in,it would also mean no Roast Beef for this little Piggy
who lives down the road…….
I'll have another go at them next week to see if common ground and sense can be found.
Also at this time I know of 28 rooms being booked out of their 47 the Hotel offers so somewhere along the line I've missed or not been notified who's booked the George.
So if you've booked the George and not mentioned it on here I won't have picked up on it …...nor will the George won't give names of course.
So if you have booked please let me know as 28 rooms makes 56 covers so we are not far off being in a good bargaining position to take on the Oak
Panelled jobbie in its entirety……...
Let me know by pm, especially if you don't want your wife knowing you've booked a double room or your taking the secretary……………,then I'll speak with them again to see
what they can do…...
