The GT8! Carbon fibre bodied £200K 440BHP 7 Speed V8.
Discussion
As part of the filming of my 'Road to GT8' video series on YouTube, I had the very special opportunity to experience my GT8 being turned blue in the paintshop at Gaydon. I cannot thank the team at Aston Martin, both the press side for making the arrangements but equally those on the line for being so helpful through the process. For now, here are some pics of what it goes through.
The first photo of my car, panels fitted and aligned, prepared in primer and waiting to go into the booth:
Initial round of paint is completed by hand, going around the door shuts, fuel cap, under the bonnet and boot lids, and generally hard to reach areas:
Robots take over to complete the work:
One freshly painted car, one very excited future owner:
The car sits at around 45C to set the paint before moving to rest at room temperature and then apply clearcoat:
If anybody has any specific questions about the build process, let me know and I'll try to cover it and/or tell you more about it.

Looking forward to seeing it on the production line during our factory tour on Wednesday 23rd November. The first photo of my car, panels fitted and aligned, prepared in primer and waiting to go into the booth:

A GT8 has just been delivered in the Stirling green halo scheme and it seems like, having just seen an instagram post, it has been sent straight to The Octane Collection in Guildford!! I presume it will be going up for sale but there are no details on their website just yet
That news pisses me off.http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2016...
Sad that these types can't just keep to Porsches.
Car now looks to be sold. Hoping the new owner will come on here and hopefully be up for meeting up once more of the GT8s have been produced!
