So what have you done with your Aston today?

Yours looks in as many bits as mine. What are you having done?
I'm having every single bit of leather redone. The car is 7 years old now and the seats were a bit worn, especially on the drivers side. But only redoing the seats would have caused the color to not match the rest of the interior, so I'm having it all redone. The new interior is inspired by the way the Taraf interior looks. I'll post photos when it's done, but it's gonna take another 10-14 days I think.kathk said:

May I ask how much that cost you, having it redone?kathk said:

Same here, mine was a vile red and it's being redone as we speak. I think yours is a little ahead of mine though, I'm hoping for the end of March / early April. Nice choice on the tan too.LPH said:
I did very much the same thing as that ^^^^^^
Wash, dry, (it was clayed last week), cleanser, DA Polisher and Megs 105 on the roof and tailgate (as these had some heavier marks), then whole car DA polisher and Megs 205, followed by whole car DA polisher and Menzerna SF 4500.
Then a hand applied coat of Jetseal 109. Waiting for some Soft99 Fusso wax to finish it all off.
Then I fitted a remote controlled relay for the exhaust valve fuse. One of these:

Very nice. Would fancy a similar system, though the one you linked is unfortunately "Currently Unavailable" Wash, dry, (it was clayed last week), cleanser, DA Polisher and Megs 105 on the roof and tailgate (as these had some heavier marks), then whole car DA polisher and Megs 205, followed by whole car DA polisher and Menzerna SF 4500.

I was looking and buying one of those and would have done if I wasn't so awkward and liked messing about with stuff myself. https://www.cccharger.co.uk

cressell - if you fancy a bit of DIY, you can use any remote 1 way 12v relay for the simple latch open/close like mine. As long as the terminals are labelled on it then it's easy to wire up as per the diagram I linked to.

Hi Ross,
When/why did you sell the old one?
Nick
Sold the last one in Sep/Oct. Thought I'd do without a GT for a bit while I build garages at home and wait and see if the new DBS came to a price level I was comfortable at. When/why did you sell the old one?
Nick
This late (non S) car in Ceramic had been at Bristol for a few months and I just thought rather than wait around, we'd enjoy this now. I'll risk a bit of depreciation and maybe a DBS will come along in the future, but if it doesn't there's a lot worse places to be!
I got out of the last one and back into this one at a very similar price point and for me it's a better spec, newer, and less miles so I'm happy.
Also the Mrs can't use the dogleg manual in the Vantage and started talking about driving my 355, so this made her happy too.
