I've had a couple of girlfriends from Texas, nothing more insidious than that smile

Once I start hocking and spitting into a paper cup I carry round, then I would expect to be pulled up on it!

You still coming tomorrow?

That was great fun, shame they dropped the tunnel limit just for us but I think we still made the best of it! Great place to park at Brooklands, much better than the car park we found ourselves in, thought it was quite atmospheric and god to have an area to ourselves!

Looks like we have a quite a lot of locals and local knowledge, be a shame not to use that next time in some way. Hard to get a decent run on any roads with that number of people unless it's a bit more organised and we have groups of 5 with leaders. This basic level of organisation probably works at the moment, next one could either be at Brooklands again or (as per the title) maybe at Trinity Engineering? I have never been and would like to have a look around, I beleive there is speca to park anyway..?

I will speak to Tim about it and see if he is willing!

Let's see what's happening in a month or so weather-wise..?

It's well worth it, been a member a few years now!

Tim, the trip to your place sound brilliant, exactly what I originally conceived this meeting as with Burntout! Bacon butties on a Saturday morning sound great, maybe even Jockman would make the trip down for one..?

We'll keep and eye on the weather and have a look in February - it'll probably be abother short notice event like this, but hell, it seems to work!

Di and Tony, sorry you got left behind frown

The frozen, desolate wastelands and tundra of Northern Britain is no place for an Ason meet in winter wink

Midlands works for me, maybe a Milton Keynes roundabout day..?

Smart thing to do would be a meet at the Gaydon Motor Museum. I make that 85 miles from SW London and 115 or so from cheapest Cheshire. Not far off a midway point considering it'll take me an hour to do the first 8 miles...

A Saturday in February sounds good, weather dependant. Thats the sort of thing that can be done at short notice and it will just be an open house. Help yourself to tea/coffee, etc and wander round the workshops. All I would need is a rough idea of numbers so we dont run out of butties!
Perfect Tim, I will pop down to Trinity one day soon and introduce myself and we can take it from there. As you say, we'll do it at short notice - long may the mild winter continue!

In my curve pic can anyone explain the little 'pill boxes' on the right, and their purpose?

Thanks

They're for spotters/observers, marshalls and the press!

a fan of tyre kicking meets, drives out are far more interesting driving
True... but when you have over 30 cars, a big drive is not really an option! As discussed, if that was going to happen we'd need much smaller groups (4-6), a leader and a destination in mind. Would take organisation well beyond me as I have little to no local knowledge!

Goodwood would be a nice plave to arrive at one day as well, just turn up to the circuit and park - if nothing is on that day I can probably get us into the paddock to park (GRRC member as well). If not, well there's plenty of space inside!

Just needs alot more thought and effort.
I agree with both the sentiments... I called Brooklands and we all turned up, that was as tough as this one got.

Shmee and Mikeyk, any help would be much appreciated by the whole forum I think!

I cannot imagine that anyone drove at more than NSL.
I certainly didn't speed. That's not legal.

6th of May I am actually free so will aim for the Goodwood meet, it will be a rare beginning of month morning that I am off work.

The problem there is that when 30 Astons turn up, they'll let the first 2 in and the rest will be off to park with the Clios and Saxos in the overflow!

Now what would happen, if say your were unfortunate enough to have an accident, and hurt someone??

Police officer..... now we're you speeding George...??
No officer.. Never speed... It's against my nature... I always drive below the limit...
PO..... Well we've just done a google search, and found this post on the Internet, so sorry, we don't believe you.... smile
That is EXACTLY how it happens. Seriously. No you won't get done just for posting that you speed, but it can and will be used against you if they need evidence. It really isn't hard to find either.

Is this something to do with the upcoming independence referendum..?

Don;t think Prince G is being singled out, I just wouldn't confirm I broke the law on a public forum. I didn't quote him either wink

Didn't know the Aston ECU captured that much data...

Me too,
Me three.

Just because the pie-eating blue-skinned pigeon-fancying folk of the north won't come down here as they'd burn, doesn't mean we can't put on a couple of coats and go up there! Heated seats will keep us alive!

The pimp of Gaydon... well if the cap fits! I was 'organising', a woman with a clipboard told me so!

Brilliant video, really enjoyed that - it's got very good sound for a little camera! Thanks Shmee!
