Look what I've had fitted...
Discussion
OK guys it is all finished and quite frankly superb. There are lots of options depending on how far you want to go but whilst James had our car in bits I've also had the front and rear cameras fitted. The brilliant thing about the front camera is it can actually looks down so gone are the days of bashing the carbon fibre front lip if you have one.
As I said in an earlier thread whatever Nav apps come along, they will all work.
The Nav fitted is £895 inc and the first 50 customers will get a very valuable extra thrown in
I've been on this forum for over 5 years now and this has been discussed so many times. We now have a solution for the pre Garmin Sat Nav
Here is the vid, sorry about the sunlight at the end.

Put me down as one of the fifty customers Nick!
How much for having front and rear cameras fitted as well?
Glad you are home in one piece How much for having front and rear cameras fitted as well?
Need to contact James on the above as its not that straight forward. Obviously once your car is in bits it makes life easier for the other stuff.

Sorry if this is a stupid question or I've missed it:
If you're using the Nav app on the screen, the instructions are coming through the car speakers.
I assume this therefore means you would be unable to listen to the radio whilst the Sat Nav is being used?
Nope. The Nav interrupts radio, CD, streaming etc as with any normal Sat NavIf you're using the Nav app on the screen, the instructions are coming through the car speakers.

Hi Nick
I have google earth sat nav on my Audi and it is really good.
Does this system need a data sim to make it work? I ask as my Audi needs one to make Google work effectively.
Already contacted them to look at cameras.
Don't suppose you know if fitting of these invalidates cars warranty?

I assume all phones now include data as standard but I'm sure James will clarify.
The cameras are superb
I really cant see how any of this kit could invalidate warranty. Don't forget James does loads of work for the main dealers as well.
Trust you are well

Hi Nick
Thanks, have asked James questions so hopefully all will be ok. Seem to recall someone talking of mods that could affect cam bus, or whatever it is. Just don't want to affect warranty but hopefully all will be ok.
Cameras are good, wish I had one as I wouldn't have smacked rear diffuser if you remember haha.
Am fine thanks.......busy holidaying since Jan15 but will be back to work when we get back from Colorado in April, just in time for the Easter break
Will see you at Burghley?

Yes will be at Burghley with both cars as James is going to use the DB9 as his trade stand, I think.

This is good news on what you have done. However I would check out with Ed first on what your planning at Burghley out of courtesy , as there are alot of stipulations on this event.
I have offered the '9 for Burghley should James decide to exhibit which he would of course arrange via EdNijius Maximus said:
Damn it, I better get a move on...
So are you and James partners in this venture...?? I was hoping for you to drive down in your DBS and personally fit it Nick! Ha.
Not at all. I agreed to be the Guinea Pig as I did years ago when I was one of the original adopters of James's DAB upgrade. The man is a genius when it comes to AM. So are you and James partners in this venture...?? I was hoping for you to drive down in your DBS and personally fit it Nick! Ha.
I'm a very simple Insurance Broker
James has seriously moved the game on for all of us Volvo sat nav users.
