Yesterday got the car out of the garage, dropped the roof, drove 30 mins to the airfield, shed the surly bonds of earth for just over an hour, got back in the car and had a blast home - perfection!!
Hello notsaV8V,,,or Mr Super Cool,,,,drops the roof, drives the Aston Martin to the airfield. Goes fly his aeroplane for an hour,,,then blasts the Arste back home. Like your style. PS: May I ask, which aircraft do you fly?

We have a mixed fleet of reasonably interesting General Aviation aircraft at the flying club I'm a member of. Sad to say though, Sunday's trip was just a x-country pootle in a Cessna spam can.
Still beats mowing the lawn which was the other option as suggested by SWMBO!

I looked at mine safe and snug in the garage. I marvelled at its shininess, blew it a kiss and said I'd be back soon to give it a run out. At not time was I anywhere near the exhausts
I actually sat in it the other night to skip through some tracks on a new CD as the premium sound is better than what I have indoors
I can so imagine myself doing that Simon, ,,or not doing that (exhausts). I actually sat in it the other night to skip through some tracks on a new CD as the premium sound is better than what I have indoors

All the best Bob....no more sleeps for you
Thanks Jockers. Quite surprised, just the one awake period about 4 o/c,,,,nipped to the loo, normal night, how can that happen, dissappointed really. I'll be back from the dealership with some snaps to post. Nervous because I've not actually seen the pure black interior against the volcano red, reckon it'll work, should do shouldn't it,,,yeh, it'll work.

Enjoy your first look at your new DB9 Bob. I am sure your "friend" Julia will enjoy it too
Cockers me old china, I hate to let the truth get in the way of a good story,,,but,,,Julia is not only my best mate, she's also my fiance,,,sorry to be a stick in the mud an' all that. Pick up Simon, thats not really happening for us yet,,,,next Tuesday, after pdi finishes on Monday, Paintshield are collecting her in their enclosed trailer to take her to their workshop for Francis to work his magic and for them, theirs, fitting the Xpel Ultimate film. After thats complete, BR are collecting Vesuvius from Paintshield in their enclosed trailer, taking her under their wing for intially the powder coating and embroidery work and then after a single trip out to Kensington on the 21st July, back for some major heart/appendix surgery.
PS: Julia thinks I'm completely bonkers of course but,,but,,but,,in a way I think she may have a point.

Bob, me old mukka. Let's not let truth spoil a good story heh.
Anyway, you have the patience of a saint as I would be driving that home tonight stunning colour. Stunning car.
Sorry its late, many thanks everyone for your kind comments, all adds to the wonderful day me and the 'mystery girl' have enjoyed. Pictures don't tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth to be honest, a shame because I wanted you to see the interior and how well the chancellor red works with the pure black, it works, IMHO very classy indeed, so very pleased as its was all a bit of a shot in the dark. Mark, here she is your p&j on the ramp:
Little Donkey, the Virage has been used in the Gumball european rally, gobbledygook to me but maybe you understand, sounded like a super rich kids thrash around european countries in their various supercars and may devil take the highmost.

Lovely colour. Congratulations. When do we get to see it in the flesh?
Err, when, thats not an easy one to answer Simon. Definately at Kensington on the 21st July but then she's straight back to BR until Mike has worked his magic, dunno how long that might take. Cockers me old mukka, you mention patience, I am not by nature at all patient but I've been waiting years for this car and so getting her fettled to the right spec over the coming couple of months isn't so hard for me to take, I think you'll understand. Beautiful car with with great colour mix. Congratulations.
Goddo, speech, many thanks. I've been referred to as being 'brave' on the AMOC site, the o/p adding, he wishes more were so. I think since I'm a comparative newcomer, I'm less indoctrinated in the established criterium, so never felt I was pushing the envelope at all really. Of course I'm delighted with the responses here, although I'm sure there exists a significant minority that have kindly declined to comment, so thank you to those too. [quote=MollyGTi]Went out for an early dinner, took the long route home, stopped at 'Hampton Court' (yes, we have one in Herefordshire too!) and nicked their location for an impromptu photo shoot using the iPhone
Certainly getting around 'Pearl', looking fabulous isn't she. I especially like the black grille, bonnet vents and side strakes, they work very well against the white.

Thanks Bob , Not long till you get Vesuvius home. So what have BR in mind then?
Phase I at BR is for some cosmetic work. Phase II is for a power upgrade, how much power and how it can be achieved is yet to be discovered. One thing I am sure of, is that I am hoping they can make Vesuvius sound like this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mO3VwMkzDEs
