Well, I tried that this afternoon. Blimey, what a difference. The parcel shelf would appear to be really, really effective at damping out any exhaust sounds.Neil1300R said:

It's a free sports exhaust system. So no parcel shelf for me for the time being.

But did you work out it folds in half and stows at the bottom of the boot in the cut out?
Keeps it in the car, in case you have soemthing in the boot and don't want people to see when parked up.
Tried to take mine out at the weekend, couldn't fathom it out (didn't look in manual before anybody asks), I assume there's a knack to it. Didn't want to just rip it out, seemed fairly well locked in to the 2 spigots above the boot lights. I may, however, just be having a weak moment of course. Gagging to get it out as I luuuurrrvve the sound, even with the parcel shelf.Keeps it in the car, in case you have soemthing in the boot and don't want people to see when parked up.

Yep, just about. I didn't have the manual on me at the time (or now, so I can't check) but I managed to get it to fit in the 'indent'. Is the flap meant to sit vertically, just by the boot catch?Keeps it in the car, in case you have soemthing in the boot and don't want people to see when parked up.

You just unhook the ties from the rear hatch and the shelf slides backwards from its retaining slots - then folds back on itself for storage...... although in these politically correct extra-safety conscious days we should point out that.....................SAFETY WARNING - if you store the shelf in the boot.... in the event of an accident the parcel shelf could move potentially causing injury, and without the shelf in place stored items in the boot could enter the cabin under certain circumstances........just a matter of time before we get an official sticker on the shelf

NB You'll need to pull the red tab to withdraw the locking pins on both sides of the shelf itself.Bicenzo don't pull the wrong red tab, thats the ejector seat!
