V8V roadster or F430 - tough decision

Of course. But Ferrari also has the history, the heritage, the branding and just happens to be vastly superior in terms of handling and performance too.
No offence, but you sound insecure if you're worried about what other drivers think; perhaps the OP doesn't feel that way and wants the best car.
The V8V isn't it.
Insecurity is not the reason I prefer the Aston. It is not what the other drivers think either but more how I felt driving the Ferrari . You are right of course Ferrari has an incredible history and no doubt driving an older classic might be more appealing. With regards to which is best then that is subjective. Best to look at sit in or listen to, or drive to a country hotel will all depend on the individual .No offence, but you sound insecure if you're worried about what other drivers think; perhaps the OP doesn't feel that way and wants the best car.

Well, it seems I am creeping into the budget numbers for an early V12V Coupe (the V12 Roadster is sadly strwetching it too far) This is just adding further to my confusion
man maths always creeps in!What sort of budget are you looking at? ~£80-90k I guess?
Like I said go and drive a V8VS roadster
You'll get a good one in that budget, also try the light weight seats they do change the "feel" of the car
I recently took delivery of my dream car - V8 Vantage S coupe - and couldn't be happier.
What else did I look at? Maserati and Ferrari 360/430/458 - couldn't quite stretch to the 458. (I love Italy and all things Italian, and ride a Ducati).
In the end I got the Aston. Just a better overall experience/package in my mind.
Of course, now I have my dream car all locked away, what am I doing? Looking for a 308/328/355 or 360 to park next to it. One of each! 'Don't Stop Believing'
Have fun deciding.

It's never going to be a Daily Driver, just for w/ends, high days, special trips etc.
Thanks for all the feedback...interesting...I've changed my mind five times already :-)
From my perspective, having owned an F430 for 12 months and now a V8VS, The F430 sat in the garage for approx 25 days of the month whereas the Vantage comes out most days. If you are going to use the F430 as you say then I'd go for the F430. Thanks for all the feedback...interesting...I've changed my mind five times already :-)
The Ferrari was a box I had to tick and very glad I did. You certainly get more attention in the F430. I always remember once when filling it up a young lad aged around 12 turned round, his jaw dropped and he tugged on his dad's arm and said "dad, dad look it's a Ferrari!" I have yet to have that kind of experience in the Aston. You certainly get admiring glances and comments but nothing to match the Ferrari.
Driving wise the F430 (I had the F1 paddle shift) is awesome. It sticks to the road like glue. The sight of that beautiful engine through the rear glass is fantastic. Do I miss the Ferrari, yes I do. Do I love the Aston, yes I do. If I had to make the choice for a high day car...F430 every time. It's a difficult choice, good luck with it. You won't be disappointed with either car. You will only be if you have to use the F430 for everyday...because it just doesn't work in the real world.
She did look good in red!

Well here's another option for you, for the budget your talking about you could do what I did, not quite a 430 but the 360 is still a very nice Ferrari.
Nice Just proves the point that people have no idea how much these things cost, especially the slightly older modern stuff. Most people would ask which bank you
