Guys I do agree that the V8's Nav isn't as good as a Tom Tom, ... the newer hard drive unit is faster & more accurate than the previous system, but it is still crap biggrin...... but personally I don't want all the crap wiring & hassle of swapping units around so the factor fit unit does for me just fine when I need it.

The latest Nav on the 4.7 is better, not half as bad as many are saying, but it isn't the ... best for sure wink the problem rests with the fact that regardless of the actual deal you are doing the new V8 is a £90-100k car & with many a pocket rocket at £15k now coming with Sat Nav, a future buyer would expect his high end Aston Martin to have Sat Nav fitted where he doesn't have to plug some tit on his windscreen, have wires trailing all over the dash & the Mrs with a black eye when it all falls off biggrin !!! Not to mention having to hide it all in the far too small glovebox (impossible!!) when he/she leaves the car, so I agree with the dealer that it will affect re-sale value if you don't have it. Of course when its 6 years old & far cheaper it won't matter a jot but over the next 2-3 yrs it will.. all IMO of course, so spec it unless you get another cheaper integrated option!
Come on Grant. Even the 4.7 sat nav looks and feels like technology from the last century wink

I talked to several dealers about this before specing my car and all of them told me it doesn't affect resale value. Honestly, the system is so embarrassing I wouldn't dare to show it to somebody. It just doesn't match the rest of the high class interiror.
Totally agree that the sat on the 4.7 is still rubbish.

However, I also agree with Grant that if you are selling in the next couple of years it could well impact the resale price.

Illogical but true.

Josh If you dont mind me asking what sort of deal on a fac order are they offering you ? Im hopeful that if I go self spec (roadster) I can secure mid 80`s with sat, sportpack wheels and a few smaller extras.

I have no px and arranged finance with lombard direct (who only offer very small balloons at present due to the uncertainty)

If I were looking to buy a used V8V (and it could be possible before the year is out) I' would activly seek out a car without Sat Nav.

Obviously that wouldn't be the main criteria, colour, interior, other stuff is far more important, but if a seller thinks he's going to get a premium from me because he has Sat Nav, he'll be dissapointed. In fact, I'd pay a small premium for a car without it if needed.

Unfortunatly for me most SH AM's seem to have it.
Because the ones without invariably are very slow to shift.

I would be surprised if you got much/any discount on a self spec new order.
