I had the same experience when i changed from a 4.3 to a 4.7 Roadster, the 4.7 has an extra pair of cats that quiet it down too much. Swap the secondary cats out for straight pipes, Aston dealers do them as option or aftermarket, they are around £500-600 and 90 mins labour to fit.
Then your 4.7 will sound as it should....kind of like a 4.3 with valves open, a touch louder perhaps
Thanks I had been thinking about that as a friend did it to his V12 to great effect. Then your 4.7 will sound as it should....kind of like a 4.3 with valves open, a touch louder perhaps

I have always wondered why when I moved from my 4.3 to my 4.7 it seemed so much quieter. Now I know, thanks for enlightening me Then your 4.7 will sound as it should....kind of like a 4.3 with valves open, a touch louder perhaps
Dunno how much the BR switch is on its own - mentioned here as part of exhaust package

Any idea how this might work for a Rapide?
Also I can't find any details on the BR three-way switch solution, anyone have any details on how it s fitted/cost?
Thanks!
I'm just about to fit one of these on my '18 Rapide S. Also I can't find any details on the BR three-way switch solution, anyone have any details on how it s fitted/cost?
Thanks!

I already have the secondary decats fitted which are well worth it if you haven't already. The Rapide on cold start does so with the valves open anyway so that'll give you an idea of what you're getting sound wise. Will report back!

As far as I can tell, you don't actually need the relay in this circuit. All the relay does is flip the action of the buttons. For example, "Off" now acts like "On" would without the relay.Seems unnecessarily complicated unless there's some other reason for the relay. That's just one more part to fail, when I don't think you actually need it.

It's been a few years since I drew that...IIRC the relay is required if you want std mode (valves enabled) as the default, operation of the RM02 will then disable the valves and give you more noise.
I run it without the relay and just enable the RM02 when I want it quite.
Yes, you are right.I run it without the relay and just enable the RM02 when I want it quite.
I thought more about it, and the RM02 defaults to "OFF" when the power is cut, so the relay switches it so that the power defaults to "ON", or the standard behavior.
As long as you connect the output to the Normally Closed output on the relay, of course. :-)
