What mods are done to get the extra bhp ?
You did well to get a deal , I got the impression the price was the price .
And the exhaust must be epic as std is pretty good ??
The black inlet manifold denotes the factory power kit; - a new inlet manifold, valved airboxes and mapped onto 98 Ron ...so you need to run it on the good stuff smile

Hi all. I collect the vantage next week but wanted to ask about the charging point. I use an AccuMate charger plugged into my Tvr battery and it’s been good for a few years. Will this work with a cigar adapter for the charger using the socket in the boot? Thanks Si.

Hi all. Can anyone recommend a good insurance company for Aston? Thanks Si.

Have my Vantage insured through Mannings UK, specialist company, do the usual limited mileage policies, track day cover etc... had my TVR insured with them for nearly eight years now.....

Used Mannings in the past for Porsche's and prices were quite good. The policies included UK track days which was handy.

Don't track the Aston so now insured with Hiscox (through broker AIB) along with my other cars. A good perk with the Hiscox policies is that if you make a claim but don't take a courtesy car you pay no excess. I presume most Aston owners have multiple cars so that's an instant money saver.

A third vote for Manning UK. Have used them now for the past seven years and they allow dealer repairs rather than their own list of bodyshops

I've previously been with Chaucer via Pace Ward - multi-car policy which was very reasonable.

Now with Hiscox via AIB - quite a bit more expensive, but provides benefits that I was willing to pay for.

Picked it up today :-). Great service from Rob at McGurks. Collected from train station and did a handover on his day off. Few niggles but sure they’ll sort them. Nav doesn’t come up or down on the button but does work as a nav, passenger window hit or miss if it drops a few millimetres to let you in and a tyre pressure warning fault. Didn’t get chance to have a decent drive with today’s horrible weather but so glad I bought one 🙂

congrats Si

looks good

you can fix the passenger window your self by doing the window reset

pasted from the frequently asked question thread

"1. Sitting in the car with the ignition switch turned on with all doors closed, press and hold the electric window switch in the down position, once the window is fully down keep the button pressed for a further 5 seconds, you may hear a click as the window position is relearned,
2. now send the window fully up again when the window reaches the top continue to hold the button for a further 5 seconds again a click may be heard,
3. repeat the above procedure for the other window

- If this doesn't work a 'hard' reset can be carried out on the appropriate window module by removing the power. "

now go and drive it - hope you get decent weather

Thanks Graeme. Love the car. Just want to get it washed, covered up and wait for the weather to pick up :-).

Congratulations.....but why not get the niggles sorted while weather is bad....to be honest....why does it have niggles.....should have been sorted before hand over.....that’s just bad management.....I’m sure McGurks will sort them though....

In the meantime enjoy ......
