..... in Cheshire ..... my local high street (Hale) is dominated by 4x4s - Bentleys, Lambos, Range Rovers of all descriptions, Q7s and G class in particular - they are no doubt one of the target markets, most are driven by women, a huge proportion have body kits - it's not attractive, ......

Very funny Jonby.
If I am quick, I might get in before avinalarf.

Those unattractive women you refer to, with the body kits.

I bet the Cheshire plastic surgeons must be able to afford any supercar they wish for.

wink
That's your best quip for yonks.
Well done Jon.....

No issue with Chinese or other investors as long as they have a strategic view and belief on growing and transforming the brand
.

My reference was to acquisition by one of the new emerging EV brands in China that could pick up the brand to feature as a badge on a premium range EV. Needless to say that this would most likely mean a break with the AM we know today...
Geely pumped money into Volvo and, the recent Volvo's are all great cars, so Aston could get lucky.

But I think it won't come to that, look at what the Urus did to Lamborghini sales, they doubled with the launch of an SUV, the DBX should do really well for Aston and shore up the share price.
While not my brand, Volvo for Geely is a different story all together. With a brand that stands for safety and a strong environmental and social pedigree its very relevant for any player in need for a widely appealing global reputation, in particular in todays environment - be it ICE or EV. On top of it, it provides technology, R&D and production knowledge and capability for large scale manufacturing they leverage across the Geely group.

As far as the Lamborghini comparison is concerned, wouldn’t surprise me if these would be sales to trade figures which will be higher for new models (As new AM nrs have shown). Moreover it shows how crowded this segment now has become and Aston Martin needing to fight its way into a competitive market.

The new Lambo leverages VW technology and is true to its values, performance and design wise over the top so a great buy for existing Lambo users which is the first easy win and litmus test for any new product line.

Assuming elegance at speed is still broadly what AM customers are looking for the looks of the new DBX will need to be breath taking....

Robert, (is that right)

I have not yet received the final documentation, concerning the £10 offer by Investindustrial for their proposed 3% stock purchase.

I wonder whether you and other current buyers, will be able to sell your latest purchase to them for £10 ?
Judging by the market price, the answer would presumably be no.

Seems crazy if they really are going to give £10, for what they could now buy in the market for 450p.
Unless they are now legally committed (I don't know), then surely their offer will be withdrawn.

That’s a very good question and I’m afraid I don’t have the answer. I can only assume no otherwise there would have been more support at that level. I’m really just punting on a quick bounce from the lows possibly from short covering on Friday into the weekend. I’m only looking for a quick trade here using spread bets and not buying outright as it’s easier, cheaper and I’m on a boat in the med at the moment so don’t have great connectivity!

I don’t really have any interest in owning the actual stock even at these levels, and it appears I am not alone. Buy the car, not the stock has always been sound advice when it comes to Aston Martin.
