Aston Martin accessing high intensity light on parcel shelf.
Discussion
OK, I give up. Having spent a wonderful hour removing trim panels from the boot front bulkhead of my 2006 DB9, and then the stowage box itself (twelve screws) I find I still I still cannot access the high intensity light unit mounted on the parcel shelf. Why should I need to, you may ask - well I have a collection of dead ladybirds (not the cause of the current 7 spot shortage), now somewhat faded, in there....
Grateful for any pointers - or even thoughts on their extraction...

Do you mean the high level brake light inside the glass above the boot on a coupe?
If so, that can only be accessed from the interior. Remove rear seat bottoms (velcro), rear seat backs (bolts), rear console slope (clips) & subwoofer cover (screws). Then remove screws & pull the centre piece (with the light) toward you a bit. If you want to pull it all the way out you have to unclip the brake light wiring harness.
Edit: Found a link with photos

Yep! And very many thanks. Instructions and photos look very clear - will look again over the weekend - by the look they have been there a few years - sadly they have not survived.
Aston build quality is something to behold - at least two of the screws holding the stowage box were loose - I also have a strange knocking from from passenger side parcel shelf area, so potentially two 'birds with one stone.![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
