Discussion
I am looking to get myself into my first Aston Martin, and really want a convertible, but something special. I have seen this car at exeter AM, and been into see it - it is truly stunning!!

I have a drive booked tomorrow, subject to the weather, but the website says its a 'rare car' but seems so much more than a V8 Roadster? Is this right? Help please!

They only (officially) built 101 roadster so, yes, they are a relatively rare car.
There are quite a few owners on here.
This will be of interest to you: http://www.v12vantageroadster.com/
As will the register: http://www.v12vantageroadster.com/the-register/

Plus 90bhp & 130Nm. The sweetest soundtrack, especially with the roof down! Carbon Ceramic Brembo brakes that will keep all that power under control. An exceptionally well balanced track/GT car. Hope you enjoy the test drive. I was lucky enough to drive one for a week, and its everything you need...
Three of these beauties for sale at the mo:

The lightweight seats are definitely desirable but, be warned, they're not heated if driving with roof down in January is your thing

Very rare
Only two for sale in the UK at the moment
I was offered that car new last year but I cannot get on with the manual and the lightweight seats
(a point for you to check!)
If you have the same problem look at the other one

Or ask Grange to try an S with ASM in V8 or V12.
I love my V8VS roadster and the rumour mill suggests the V12S roadster will be out some time soon
I hope the weather down there improves for you and say hello to Lloyd from me!

I have had mine a year now and absolutely love the car - and cannot see any reason why I will ever get rid of her. Done 7k miles already including a European Tour and it is a fantastic car. Incidentally, I bought my car through Grange and Lloyd is a great person to deal with.
It is a very rare car with only 101 cars sold worldwide of which 32/34 have been registered in the UK. It is also, I am pretty sure, the last V12 with a manual gearbox that Aston will ever build. The soundtrack is fantastic, slightly softer suspension than the coupe so rides slightly better. It is just a fantastic place to be when the sun is shining
When comparing it with the other two V12VR's for sale at the moment it looks a bargain and provided you like the colour I think it is a very good value car. It wouldn't surprise that as we get closer to Spring that the price doesn't go up a tad if it is still around - especially given the price of the others.
The only downside is that the weather forecast for tomorrow isn't great so you may have to wait for your drive - let us know how you get one.

Thanks adamV8V. Can't help but notice, but there seems to be a massive range in price!! is this car perhaps undervalued or are the other dealers asking over the odds?? whats the story?!?
I think it comes down to the fact they are very rare cars and therefore difficult to value. The white car is outside the dealer network and they are probably trying to sell it for more than it cost - realistic? The grey car at HR Owen is somewhere in the middle and the Grange car I think is perhaps underpriced but at the end of the day there are so few available that each of the prices could be argued as being right.

thx MikeyK, I know they have a V8 S Roadster as well, so maybe will look at that also. Dealing with Lloyd as it happens.
in that case he knows his stuff on the V12's and the roadstersThat car is good value IMHO, it will go up in Spring
There is a 3rd one out there but it is stupid money and not at an AM dealer
Here's my thread from 13 months ago when I was considering that car from new

I like that a lot. Good value too. As far as I'm aware, there were 103 cars built, but I wouldn't be too hung up on numbers, just look at the chasis numbers on the one77!
Yep, the v12s roadster will be out this year, but I don't know how many are to be built, but I imagine the non s car will be more exclusive.

Quite right Francis that more than 101 were built but only 101 sold. The others were for UB and pre-production cars retained by AML.Yep, the v12s roadster will be out this year, but I don't know how many are to be built, but I imagine the non s car will be more exclusive.

why is the white one at that money, given it has done more miles than all three? its all blooming confusing. The rarety does appeal though.
As I said outside the dealer network which could mean he doesn't understand the Aston market or perhaps he understand rarity better than we do. It's about opinions. Additionally it could depend as to whether the cars have been bought by the garages or are on SOR?I do know that Grange have taken as part ex and have priced to sell. Do not know about the others
