Engine hesitation / fuel cut in a 4.7 V8V?
Discussion
During a frenzied tour of Scotland last week, my 2009 4.7 Vantage appears to have picked up a very occasional hesitation.
It is very infrequent - just once / day! Usually happens when the car has been driving along at a constant gentle speed for a while (ie warming it up in the morning) and then when I apply more throttle, the car begins to accelerate, then hesitates heavily, enough to cause to feel alarmed, but by the time your body is ready to react, it is accelerating cleanly again.
As I say, it then doesn't repeat itself for the rest of the day while the car is warmed up. It feels like the fuel cuts out for a split second?
I had a thought that it might have been caused by some poor quality fuel at the tip of Scotland so have filled it with a couple of tanks of premium super unleaded since but the hesitation was there again (once) last night when I took the car out for a run.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Marc

This happened a few times on my last Aston a MY12V8VR. Never got to the bottom of it and sold the car last year for an SP10 R. Hasn't happened with this car (fingers crossed).
I had an N 240 on hire recently and that did it twice in 3 weeks. On one occasion going round a roundabout in 2nd gear it actually locked the back wheels and kicked the tail out. Sent it back!

My car is in Works at moment having a TPMS module fitted so i have just emailed them to look over this. Im in Afghan now after having a wonderful first 3 weeks with the car only now to not see it for next 3 months. So i dont have a drama if its in there for a few days and it will be low-loaded back home for the missus to enjoy while im away (!!!!). So ill let you know what comes back from them.
I had a very similar problem with my first V8 Vantage around seven years ago. It happened on numerous occasions with the car cutting out briefly and, ultimately, Aston swapped it out for a new car. Which did the same! There was quite a thread about it at the time which you may be able to search the site for.
The problem was (surprise, surprise) a software bug. Under certain circumstances it thought it was on the over-run [even if it wasn't] and went into some kind of recalibrate mode which caused the engine to briefly cut out.
