A few cats out of the Burghley 2016 bag.
Discussion
Hi all,
As the New Year approaches I thought I'd let a few cats and the odd Vulcan jump from of my Burghley bag so too speak hopefully to encourage all those that attended last time to
re-register again for 2016, but equally to let all the newer members of the forum know a little more about whats likely to be going down and to make them feel welcome to attend.
Firstly and as many will now know Andy Palmer has signed up to attend on the day and has put some factory support into the Event as well, this should make for a very interesting display as we move forward with the next generation and with new Aston Martin's already in the pipe line and thoughts of 4 x 4's and other additions and replacements.
It will also be a great opportunity to grab a word with Andy as he's most approachable and I'm sure he will be only to pleased to show off his own classic on the day before he gets collared to pull a few raffle tickets and hopefully as he helps bring some extra smiles and interest to our day.
We have moved on greatly from the first conception of Burghley and I'm pleased to say that 20 plus Companies and other attractions and displays have also signed up to attend offering
a very colourful and interesting field for you to visit and enjoy in the company of 100's of other owners..
We will be having the afore mentioned Auction again to help raise some pennies for the charity pot and here again to help I have already received some great donations which include,
A bespoke hand made V12 Aston Martin Glass topped Coffee table that was recently on display at the Classic Car Show at the NEC.
I also have a couple of annual services to auction off for any model of Aston Martin along with a Factory tour for 4 people.
Other items consist of holiday mini breaks,a photo shoot with your car and a professional photographer, various but wonderful works of art donated from several well known motor sport artists and this is merely the tip of the ice berg so to speak.
For a special donation for charity a lucky bidder can again have the services of our very own Paddy for a day or two pending on the value of the bid, who better would you want working on their P and J,but be warned you will need to provide plenty of cake and fizzy drink to keep him at his fighting weight..
I can also confirm that we will have a Vulcan on display which will be appearing on the David Appleby Engineering stand and a little further along will be a very famous racer and much loved Aston from another era that being 2 VEV for all the experts or for the not so informed a beautiful 1961 Lightweight Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato with a wonderful history and racing pedigree.
What a great display and photo opportunity so do take you camera along to DAE and have a chat and a good look at todays latest classic Aston before taking in David Eyles's wonderful green machine.
We already have 150 plus cars registered to attend so come on don't be shy why not show your interest and support and put your name down on the sticky near the top of the forum page.
We had 246 cars there last time so it would be nice to beat that and in doing so try to better the incredible £11,132.20 we all made for Cancer Research and the MacMillan Organisation last time.
Finally as its the season of good will and I'm busting a b*ll*ck here trying to put on a truly memorable event for everyones enjoyment I'd like to politely ask that if anyone wishes to make a donation at this time you can easily do so by visiting my Virgin money giving page which can be found on the main Burghley sticky topic.
Many thanks and Happy Christmas everybody………
PS,
Theres a pre event visit going down on the Saturday the 2nd of July which for security reasons I can not mention on forums and a like, however its open to everyone attending with an Aston Martin, its very interesting and something that is not open to the public and is in the Stamford area.
If you wish to know more please feel free to email me, edwind.cunningham@btinternet.com

Thanks for the pictures Gav,
I'd forgotten about those and thanks to Gary Ungless for kindly donating it.
If anyone has their eye on it I pretty sure that we can sort out delivering it as you might struggle to get it in the boot along with your picnic baskets.
On the subject of Picnic's and for those's that can't be arsed with making the sarnies we will have full catering throughout the day on the field to keep everyone fortified.
The bacon rolls are on the go from arrival with other delicacies being offered throughout the day.
For those that want a sit down lunch or tea please be smart and reserve a table in Burghley Houses Orangery Restaurant (01780 761989),don't leave it to luck
on the day and run the chance of being disappointed as it will get busy.
There is the Garden Cafe as well and of course Mrs C's giant never ending picnic that served as a life line for a few Aston refugee's on our last visit…...

Have you remembered to organise having a boxing ring so the BR and DAE clans can beat the st out of each other?
It won't be needed Pete, "Its peace to all men" and an open field of professional companies doing their own thing in a good natured way to a potentially huge audience of potential clients. They'll be no time for fighting other than fighting off potential orders and enquiries……...
Failing that each side can nominate a champion to slug it out with Mrs C supplying the pillows……………..

Cheers Mick,Aston Martin Edinburgh have put in my car pr sunglasses am500005 for Burghley event.Very nice if the sun shines like last time
Very kind of you to donate them to the Auction as well as a thoughtful gesture on AM Edinburgh's part………………thank you.
I see they are on sale currently at £469.00 so someone who likes their designer gear could be looking very cool after the auction and most likely with a fine bargain.
Lets hope the sun shines like last time…..
Wishing everyone on here a Happy Christmas and a healthy New Year.
As we see this year out it won't be long before our caper in the park at Burghley will be upon us so as a seasonal release to hopefully
get a few more of you fence sitters signed on here's a little more of whats in store.
So far we have 166 cars registered to attend including some very special cars not often seen and certainly not flying up and down the highways these days,
We have 2 VEV leading the pack for the old school whilst DAE have promised to display the latest Gaydon conception by bringing along a shiny new Vulcan.
We have so far 20 plus Companies attending with their own displays which make for a colourful and most interesting field to compliment the 100's of owners
cars that will be along displaying and enjoying the day.
I'm doing my best for an air display again but that is in the hands of the MOD as the bid is in,we shall have to await their decision which is in late March so its a fingers crossed
job at the moment.
Andy Palmer is coming along with a few well known faces from the Factory and will be bringing some factory support to brighten our day so look out as you never know what they are likely to display.
I'll drop in a few other well known and highly thought of companies too hopefully catch your eye as we have such a healthy selection coming from all corners of the Country.
Bamford Rose will be carrying on there association and kind support for this Event for 2016 as will John McGurk who will again be along with his expert team and no doubt a nice selection
of cars if any one fancies shuffling their pack.
Trinity Engineering are coming from the south and Bridge Mill Motors are heading down from the North and are very keen to get involved in this growing event.
Ecurie Bertelli have kindly accepted there invitation and both Andy and Robert hope to be there flying the flag for the old school and pre war Astons that will also be on display on the day.
Clive Chedzey from CC Charger Co UK will be on hand and has most generously donated 25 of his exhaust switches which he claims he can fit on the hoof in 5 minutes to the charity
fund, each one he fits for £80.00 will go in full to charity so a big thank you there to Clive for his kindness.
Anyone wishing to have a switch fitted whilst at Burghley please contact Clive or just let me know please.
There's so,so much more to mention such as that Andrew Hill the renowned Artist most associated with AM and Pro-Drive will be displaying his work, so please make a note and go
and see some wonderful painting from this most talented artist.
Andrew spent 2 weeks with the Le Mans team this year producing some magnificent work and has kindly donated a special commission to our Auction on the day so keep an eye and ear
out for that as I'm pretty sure it would look very nice in your man cave.
Loads more beans still to be spilled about this exciting event which I certainly hope you will all support and attend as we try to better 2014's total of 246 cars and £11,132.20 made for charity.
I'll tell you more along the way if you can stand it so for now have a great Christmas and if you find a minute stick you name down on the register at the top of the forum page
to show your support and allow me to plan the stewarding accordingly.
Finally if any one wishes to make a donation or make a pledge for either our raffle or auction please contact me as the more treasure I can collect the more winners there are on the day.
Thats for the donations so far to my Virgin Page as it makes the effort feel or the more worthwhile……….
