is it just me?
Discussion
returning on the A1 in my DB9 from the 2019 Heckmondwike rotary club charity car rally which ended up at the Theakston brewery Masham I experienced some very strange driving from other A1m users.
im in lane 3 waiting at a respectful distance behind a vehicle until lane two becomes clear and they can safely let me past, a short distance later about to do the same thing again when the vehicle ive just passed undertakes me in lane 2 at a daft speed , theyve nowhere to go because of cars ahead of them in lane two and end up braking and dropping back.
now once i could understand but it seems to be "a thing" now, is it just me , am i doing something wrong, if i am im certainly willing to be educated

Had one last Saturday going south on A34 Newbury by-pass. A black Audi rs3, he was dawdling in overtaking lane with nothing on the inside lane as I came up behind, he pulled to the left, I gently overtook then he accelerated and sat on my bumper, I pulled to the left and he dropped back, then accelerated again and overtook then slowed again in front. If the prick is reading this he needs to grow up.
ETA, I have to say on the whole that the response given by others when either driving or even filling up with petrol is very positive with complimentary remarks about the car.

Surprised you’ve only just noticed this. I’ve had this happen to me in almost every semi decent sports car I’ve ever owned, yet never happening to me whilst driving an indistinguishable daily (before anyone says the issue is the driver and not the car).
If anything, I’d say the Aston encounters less of the nobbish goading driving than many other marques.

In Italy I normally experience nice things from others, like thumbs up and such. Rarely you have the young guy in a Golf wanting to race you but not often.
I found out though that I have to be more polite and let other merge in/out of junctions, otherwise you will be ''that moron in the fancy car''.
But more than the actual car, I believe Italians (and especially people in Milan) are reacting to license plates; the Aston has French one (Cannes) and no one ever acted like I was a tourist not knowing where I was going.
On the other hand, when I drive my girlfriend's Citroën Berlingo with Swiss plates (fortunately not that often ) everybody is assuming I am handicapped while in reality I drive way more aggressively in the Berlingo than in the Aston. I believe Swiss have a reputation of being slow & sleepy at the wheel here.

Likewise, I found the Aston the most non offensive sports car I have owned, except for people in French made crossovers seemed to want to prove a point. In a Ferrari I had a pleasant chap press a pedestrian crossing button just so he could stand in the road, drop his trousers and show his arse while shouting obscenities.

God... aren`t people daft. We have to consider, that while we are fortunate enough to dabble in the dream cars of ourselves and those of many of the general public, there are still people out there that delight in running a key along the paint of a nice car, so there will always be an immeasurable amount of "self-pleasurers" that have their seven active brain cells creating no end of conundrum when they see a car they would like to own but can never imagine the possibility of, therefore a zebra crossing down-trou seems almost logical...
