03 Vanquish ex-Royal Household no less!
Discussion
My first foray into Aston Ownership having bought The Queen's old Vanquish. I can't quite imagine the monarch behind the wheel but first owner (from 2003 until 2016) was "The Privy Purse", the beneficiary of which is The Queen.

Would be interesting to see any photo's of any Royal behind the wheel or learn who would have had use of the car during its 12k miles and 13 years of Royal Ownership. The registration at the time was LF03 VNN but now removed presumably for security reasons.
I'm also keen to get a copy of the build spec, any idea how i can get this? AM Mayfair was the supplying dealer, whether they can confirm the details i'm not sure(?)
As this is my first AM any Vanquish specific tips/advise would be appreciated

Congrats on your car. You'll find a very active section with great technical knowledge on the AMOC forum. You don't need to be a club member to access the NP Vanquish category. There's a thread there about your car...
I can't seem to find the above forum, can anyone post me a link please. ThxEdited by DB4DM on Sunday 2nd August 12:39
I saw the pre-auction publicity for your car. I knew about several Aston Martins owned by the Royal Family, but had not heard about this Vanquish before.
Quite fun to own an ex-Royal car, but hope Prince Andrew did not drive it to Woking.
Enjoy your new car and hope you can find some Royal photos.
I think the Royal Astons go to Works Service in Newport Pagnell for maintenance, so perhaps they can give you some workshop history (if they are allowed to).

Advised that the name of the first owner in the handbook is King Hussain of Jordan (off AMOC forum)
Google tells me he died in 1999(?), perhaps it was his son King Abdullah II of Jordan but even that seems very odd. Why would the keeper’s address be the “Royal Privy Purse” and not the Jordanian Embassy?I’m collecting the car and it’s history file tomorrow so hopefully I’ll learn more when I look through it.
Bamford Rose did a lot of work on a Vanquish that had been in the middle East, and had very low mileage. Apparently that car had been near the front of the garage, so whenever the garage door opened, it would attract condensation that eventually rusted parts of the chassis. Don't know if that was your car, but if it was, Mike will have done a brilliant job of repairing it, so nothing to worry about.
Unlikely to be my car. Mike said mine was one of the very best examples and having now collected it and thoroughly gone over it I’m delighted, it’s faultless.
I’m now torn, it’s almost too good to use and I’m an advocate of using my cars not wrapping them up and never taking them out.

The car looks beautiful in the photos, I think you have to use it - but keep it special by doing occasional days - making sure you are leaving it in a safe place. Far too nice not to share with fellow enthusiasts!I’m now torn, it’s almost too good to use and I’m an advocate of using my cars not wrapping them up and never taking them out.
