Reverse going into Neutral

Hi guys,

Today when I reversed the vehicle, the car went into "neutral" automatically (without me pressing it!). I thought it was a "fluke", but then it did it again (!) - Can anyone explain to me how this can happen? or if there is something wrong in the transmission box?

Ok so it went a little bit off-topic here guys ;-)

It is an AMV8 Vantage 2009 Roadster. (pictures in another topic where I had the f******* seat stuck due to a dead battery)
