which do you all reckon sounds the best?

I know youtube vids aren't much to go on, but in the absence of anything better, it will have to do for now.

RSC tuning:

Quicksilver titanium:

Powercraft:

If I've missed any obvious contenders do please feel free to post clips or links.

In the event of a tie I fancy the powercraft one for the switchability.

added for posterity, however, considering the likely price, it's disappointing that Larini haven't bothered to film their V12 Vantage pipes in action. Quite hard to buy a set without hearing it first.

I agree entirely. I've a mind to approach the exhaust companies and offer my services as videographer.

Powercraft one retails in Japan for around £5600. No clue what it would cost to get one over here.

I had quicksilver titanium on my elise, sounded great (really great) at high revs and made the most migraine inducing drone at about 4000 revs (75mph). Had to remove it. Hence why switchable system appeals the most to me at the moment.

any chance those with sports exhausts could post a vid?

don't give a stuff about tick over or start up. an exhaust worth anything pays for itself up at the redline for me, especially if its a V12.

Agree sounds great. My guess is that it's not standard.

I'm also inclined towards the larini route. Growling is for a V8 but a V12 should sing.

Naturally I'm very happy with the way the car sounds as standard but all V12 owners have a duty to other road users to make the most of the sounds only 12 cylinders can make.

wink

each to their own

for me a V8 is rock music

a V12 is opera

most V8s are rumbling thunder, Ferrari V8's are unusual in being flat plane crank, so really glorified 4 cylinder engines, not a good example of a 'V8' noise. Le Mans Corvettes and the like are gutteral, thunderous, classic V8 noises and all the better for it, if you like that sort of thing. It's a Harley chug vs jap bike scream.

The lambo V12s I like are the more musical ones. Diablo was more gutteral but Murcielago LP640 is much higher pitched, closer to F1 V12s of old. New Aventador seems to be somewhere between the two.

Here for reference is my idea of what a V12 should sound like:
