I finally got my 4.3 V8V's cruise control enabled at the dealer this weekend. I filled up the tank on my way there and continued driving throughout the weekend until I depleted the tank, using my new cruise control frequently. What I noticed was that I was able to get a combined city/highway driving range of 285 miles which is the most I have ever gotten out of a tankful in this car. The trip computer reported I still had 35 miles to empty, but I didn't want to push my luck. Filling it up took about 16.5 gallons which yields a combined mileage of around 17mpg. Not bad. Had it been all highway miles, I suppose it would've been even higher.

So my question to you guys is: what's the longest range you have gotten from a tankful on your Aston? Make sure to indicate which model you have.

Wow. So so far, Shmee is the only one who knows how to follow instructions. smile

Again, the question is how many miles were you able to drive on a single tankful, not what your average fuel economy was.

And Yeti, the way I find out is that I always reset my trip odometer T1 every time I fill up.

When I cruised there and back at 70-75mph to the V12V Owners Day last year at NP, I managed 400 miles off a full tank, ie 80 litres, which equates to just under 23mpg!!
Holy crap! That's impressive. And in a V12V no less. I wonder if you hold the record.

I've managed about 450 on my Esprit S4s, but its estimated fuel consumption is 17 city and 27 highway. One of the first things I noticed when I got the Vantage is that she is one thirsty beast. That hasn't stopped me from driving though, as evidenced by 300 miles this weekend without really going anywhere. smile

It's funny that I was nicknamed Captain Slow at the Road Atlanta racetrack before Top Gear TV even existed.

My V8 has a 25 UK gallon tank and often achieves 350+ miles on a tank at 15-17 MPG average. That's Calais to Le Mans with some to spare. Track days is more like 8 mpg.biglaugh
Umm, the V8v has a 78 liter fuel tank (useable, max capacity is 80 liter). That translates to ~17 Imperial gallons or 20.6 US gallons. Do you have a different tank in your car?

The most I have been able to put into the tank at the pump is 16.6 gallons and the trip computer was stating there were 30 miles left to an empty tank. I don't know where the remaining 4 gallons go, unless it is estimating that I will get 7.5 mpg for the remaining fuel. I think most trip computers "lie" in order to give you a cushion of a couple of gallons worth of cruising range beyond the reported "empty tank".
