I haven't removed a wheel myself yet but I noticed when cleaning the wheels that what I thought was the wheel nut actually moves a little. If these are covers for the wheel nuts how do you remove them when you remove a wheel?

So if they are covers do I remove them first or undo the nut with them on? Don't want to ruin them.

To yeti, they don't turn but one or two move a little if you pull on them. They feel like they are held on with some sort of spring.

They are covers, but are not removable. They are a steel nut with a thin stainless steel cover pressed over the top. Just use a well fitting single hex socket on them to avoid damage.
Thank you smile Just need a new torque wrench now.
