Halfords Autoglym cleaners 3 for 2 offer
Discussion
Just been to Halfords as I needed to replenish my Autoglym supplies and was pleasantly surprised to find that they are having a 3 for 2 offer on any car cleaners.
So I purchased Autoglym Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner 2.5 Litre and a Autoglym Custom Wheel Clean Kit and as it was 3 for 2 I got another Custom Wheel Clean Kit and that was free
So if anyone needs some more Autoglym cleaning products, get yourself to Halfords and make use of the 3 for 2 offer.

Haha, good old tony. You're right, don't let it near your lovely DBS.
The custom wheel cleaner isn't bad, but I wouldn't use the shampoo, as it's quite harsh.
Next, we will have people satin how good the drying blades are.......
If you wouldn't use the shampoo, what do you use, as I have found it to be ok really? The custom wheel cleaner isn't bad, but I wouldn't use the shampoo, as it's quite harsh.

Using Autogrim on an Aston is a bit like getting King Herod to do your baby sitting.
Is it that bad?? so why do AM endorse it, if it is so se??I really haven't had a problem with the shampoo, it washes my car and doesn't leave any marks etc on it. I also use the custom wheel cleaner which is excellent and has no acid content so doesn't harm my alloys. I also use the instant tyre dressing too as it does a good job.
I have also used the engine and machine cleaner and the vinyl and rubber care in my engine bay which has made it a lot cleaner and it looks ok.
I'm not into detailing to extremes, I just want to make my AM look nice, which I think the Autoglym does for me.

I've spent thousands over the years on products, latest trends etc, but when I recommend a product, I do so because I know it works. The things I suggest more often than not cost more than the Halfords type stuff, but this is because you get what you pay for. They will do a better, safer job and will last longer, making it better financial sense in the long run.
So what you are saying is, if I purchase the CarPro Wool Wash Mitt and a bottle of Nanolex Reactivating Shampoo I will see the difference from using the Autoglym shampoo and my Microfibre Wash Mitt??paddy328 said:
Well, the Carpro mitt is much much safer on your cars paint. I would never use a MF mitt. The nanolex will add protection over time too, but a shampoo is there just to clean the car, so the stuff you use will work too. This is just better. If your paint needs correcting then, it's never going to look its best until that gets sorted.
Do you wax it at all?
Allegedly I had "Pure Guard" put onto my car externally and internally so I have some paint protection. The paperwork that came with it states that it will last for 6 years! yeah right, but at least I have some protection from the elements as my car lives outside. (Had my car 2 months)Do you wax it at all?
I know the shampoo I use will do the job of cleaning it but I was told when I purchased the car, that this protection just needs to be washed and then dried off with a microfiber cloth and that's it.
So I take it the wool mitt you suggest will be better than what I am using presently to wash my car, and the Nanolex Reactivating Shampoo would be better to use with this protection than the Autoglym shampoo I am using? would the Nanolex Reactivating Shampoo assist the protection I have on the car, or should I just stick with the Autoglym shampoo as I have the protection anyway?
Any help would be great, thanks.

The pure guard stuff isn't very good at all and to be honest, it probably won't last the year. The 22ple glass coat I use is the best on the market and even that is only two years.
Wash the car with normal shampoo and if the water runs off then its got protection, if not, then it hasn't. The nanolex stuff will be the best shampoo for everyone in terms of adding some protection as you wash.
To dry the car, you need a couple of these:

So the nanolex stuff would be a good idea taking into consideration what I have on my car already along with the wool mit?Wash the car with normal shampoo and if the water runs off then its got protection, if not, then it hasn't. As everyone has poo poo the Autoglym cleaning products and have given me external cleaning alternatives that are better, what about the interior cleaning products.
I am not even going to mention the interior Autoglym cleaning products for fear of being told they are se.
So I have Caspian Blue dashboard and door pockets etc and my seats, door inners and rear parcel shelf inner is Sandstorm. Can anyone please recommend leather cleaning products and also leather products to keep the leather in good order?
Many thanks.

Sorry Keith, Ive been flat out.
I use zaino z-9 most of the time. Spray on a section (bottom half of the seat) lightly work in with a soft nail/shoe brush and wipe off with a clean cloth.
Conditioners dont really do a lot on modern leather, so youre better off protecting it with something like GTechniq L1 leather guard
Other leather cleaners worth a look are the swissvax one or one by a company called Dr leather.
So the Dr Leather advanced formula leather cleaner would work, there are also Dr Leather wipes as well, would they do the job too?I use zaino z-9 most of the time. Spray on a section (bottom half of the seat) lightly work in with a soft nail/shoe brush and wipe off with a clean cloth.

As I have said before, I have looked at the Zaino Z9 Soft Leather Spray Cleaner and as you use it, it must be good as a cleaner. The GTechniq L1 leather guard looks like a repellent type product. I know it would keep the leather protected, but does it also replenish the leather like a balm product like the Zaino Z10 Leather in a Bottle I mentioned?
So if I use the Zaino Z9 Soft Leather Spray Cleaner and then use the GTechniq L1 leather guard the leather guard will keep my seats etc be replenished and looking good and will not show signs of cracking in time using this stuff?
I am trying to find a couple of products to clean and replenish the leather in my car so they look nice and last a long time, if you know what I mean? I will be guided by your advice as I was already looking at the Zaino Z9 Soft Leather Spray Cleaner, for the cleaning aspect of what I want to achieve.
Thanks for your help.
