Washing the car yesterday I discovered that when the door handle was pulled the passenger window dropped further than it should (usually drops about 10mm, this time 30-40mm). Closing the door made the door go up about 10mm less than it had gone down.
If repeated numerous times the window would end up being further down each time.
Using the window raise switch the window only goes up or down in 40mm steps. Auto open does not work.
I've tried window learn (numerous times)
I've had the door card off and unplugged the window module (thanks Dangermonkey) but the problem persists except now the window does not even attempt to drop when the door is opened. Fortunately it is not jammed behind the trim!
Anyone met this before?
Suspect it's going to be a new window/door module.

yes
Only other possibility as has been suggested is battery. Seeing some wierd st recently with the electronics on the early cars which is often traced to the battery needing to be replaced. Unlikely in your case as you've reset the door / window module.
Think battery is unlikely. Car starts absolutely fine, although as it is still the original battery the end of its useful life is probably nearing.
However now that Jockman has confirmed my suspicion, I'm almost certain it's not the door module!

I had the exact same problem over the weekend, started after I left the keys in the car with the radio on by accident, the car would start fine but the window was behaving exactly as you described, however I noticed that once the car was running and left for a few minutes the window would open and close normally, suspected that the battery voltage must have been a bit low, left the car connected upto the the battery tender overnight and it's been fine since. I would make sure your battery is fully charged and give it another go, you might also have to carry out a window position learn as you have had the module disconnected.
Hmmm interesting. I'll pop the conditioner on and see if that magically resolves it.
