We've been back on the best bits of our Welsh Weekend tour this afternoon. At a mountain-top pitstop near Llangynidr we came across some motoring journos (as you do):



They were filming this:



No - not the Porsche - the Ferrari in the background.

The Porsche (991 Carrera S) was us out on test drive.

Are we seriously considering it? Yes we are.

Why? Because sadly recent experiences with Aston Martin have not lived up to what we have been lucky enough to have enjoyed in the past.

So - the technically brilliant precision tool or the soul stirring V8 attention-grabber?

No, we've never owned a Porsche, but we are on our 3rd Aston.

Diplomacy dictates that we would not wish to say anything specific about the problems with the car but it is at the dealership at the moment, and not for the first time.

We had hoped that it would be relatively straightforward to bring the new car up to Purdey spec but unfortunately they are not identical cars so it won't be that easy (the S has undergone some changes during the past 2 years).
