Window drop query on Vantage Roadster
Discussion
Hi all quick query on my new to me roadster.
When you open the door from the outside the window drops a small amount to allow it to clear the rubber, when you do this from the inside the window doesn't drop and seems to be pushed down by the rubber as you push out on the door. This is the same for both doors.
The selling dealer tells me this is correct but it just doesn't feel right to me and I am (fairly) sure on my coupe that the window did the same drop on both interior and exterior handles.
Can anyone confirm if this is correct or not from their car please.
Thanks in advance.
Kev

Thanks for the replies Mikey and Christian, I have tried sitting inside with the handle pulled but no effort to open the door and after several seconds the window still doesn't drop, so it's not down to the fact that I am trying to get out before the window has a chance to react to the handle.
I will ask the dealer again as it a) doesn't feel right and b) doesn't seem logical for it to be different between internal and external operation.
Bit dissapointing that an AM approved dealer wouldn't know if this is how it should be or not.

Sorry Dan but Pistonheads operates a no naming and shaming policy.
I should have put an update on here anyway.
On Tuesday I spent a couple of hours with the Franchise Manager, Post Sales Manager and their chief technician. With regards to the windows it was still felt that mine was how it should be as they had tried a couple of others which were the same. However when we tried the new Roadster in the showroom the window on that dropped on the handle. Long and short of it is they believe the window works off a sensor on the door switch from inside and that because the sealing strip isn't pushing the door out a fraction it is not working.
So new new door seal on order (one seal does both doors) and between that and some adjustment on the door position and all should be well.
I guess one thing it shows up is how many of the cars don't operate the way they should.
To their credit we went through the items that had been picked up by my and their action plan on all the remedials was above what I would have expected. My faith is being restored in the dealer, they agreed that things had not gone as you would expect when buying a car through their programme. Revisions are being made to their processes and some staff positions to ensure the same doesn't happen in the future.
It felt very positive coming away from the meeting feeling they had taken note of all the points raised.
