Just had a phone call from Stratstone Wilmslow to tell me my car is ready for collection after it's 9th annual service.......so my DB9 is nine years old and apart from a slight leak from the aircon pipe (which I knew about as the air con needed topping up 6 months ago) and a rattle from behind the dashboard, my car has no other faults. It's been the same every year for the 5 years of ownership........ok, in year one I had the normal leak from the timing chain covers but it's arguable if it needed new gaskets , but as it was under warranty at the time, I had it done.

The Mercedes SL500 which I sold on Wednesday has had £6000 worth of repairs (. 6 different faults)and was off the road 12 weeks during my 58 weeks of ownership.

The Aston has been a wonderful car and I'm keeping hold of it smile.

Yet again, many thanks to Stratstone's who have looked after all 3 of my Astons

I thought that I would have no problems when my car recently went in for a service and MOT.

Nope failed the MOT. I then get a phone call, the nearside road spring is broken (so that's why she has been handling like a pig eek) there is an issue with the air conditioning condenser and the front headlight washer pump needs replacing! (all those under warranty thank God) Oh and my hand brake pads are below minimum and need replacing, so hand in pocket for those.cry

Well springs do break.....and the handbrake pads are only £55 from memory, and any local garage will fit them while you wait
