106k miles DB9 how scared should I be?
Discussion
I'm seriously considering buying a 2006 DB9 Volante that has done 106k miles am I mad?
The car is a one owner from new car with full Aston History which I find more attractive that lower mileage ones with multiple owners.
I will only be doing a max of 5k miles a year so I'm hoping I can get this at the bottom of its depreciation curve.
It is in the exact spec I've been looking for so over to you how mad am I?
How robust are these engines if looked after properly as this has been.

It's been fully maintained by main dealer with any required work carried out no scrimping on maintenance.
Pretty certain I'll be putting a deposit on it tomorrow to collect after my weeks holiday.
Let's play guess the price? What would you expect to pay for a car with this mileage (has new style wheels & clear rear lights full black leather with piano black trim)
It will also have a full service & mot prior to sale.

Car looked & drove great although mileage is even higher than originally thought at 118k & price is more than the guesses on here (£30k)
Car is getting full check over at Aston specialist & all being well It may be mine soon.
The service history is impeccable with car being serviced twice a year up to 2012 then annually from there on. All at Aston main dealer.
The condition of the car is fantastic far better than any I've seen below £40k
I intend keeping the car for a long time so residual values not too much of an issue although I've been guaranteed a buy back providing I keep in same condition.

Hi Howard, how's the new arrival going :-) hope your enjoying the weather
Fantastic drive home yesterday from picking it up but been at sons football tournament all day so not used today. I'll go through the mountain of invoices this week & list what the car has had over the years so you can see what to expect with high mileage?
Let's see if anyone can guess how many sets of front brake pads it has had? 1 guess each only.

Can you tell us what the:
8/. 28/7/10 - £5798.11 - 72009 miles ( not a service)
was for so soon after a "service" that cost £4055.81.
I can't help thinking that once you decide the car is a "keeper" and you know a respected Indy then that is the way to go.
Roll bars deployed & went through window / roof 8/. 28/7/10 - £5798.11 - 72009 miles ( not a service)

Roof replaced & roll bars reset all under warranty.

9/. 24/6/11 - £5798.83 - 86127 miles
10/. 23/4/11 - £6143.02 - 96971 miles
service 9 then 2 months earlier service 10 and 10k more miles...
Maybe Im missing something and the pain killers have not kicked in and neither has the coffee, but that does not compute.
Apologies now edited it should be 23/4/129/. 24/6/11 - £5798.83 - 86127 miles

+1 this is fascinating stuff. Some of those bills look huge so will be really interesting to everyone here.
Happy to put more details on if it's useful? No significant engine work completed.
Spoke to the previous owner today really nice guy the rollover hoops deployed when he went over a hump back bridge too fast. He didn't take off but suspension travel was all the way hence they deployed. Happy with that as this resulted in complete new roof. He also had clear lights conversion done at the same time.
He says that he had nothing unexpected in all of its life just consumables & air con condenser.
While some of bills are high bear in mind that absolutely everything has been done at main dealer right down to blown bulbs, new tyres etc.

Ok so more details below next to each service (can't list all small items)
Hopefully this info is useful or interesting to some?
