I am visiting London in a couple of weeks for 1 night. I will be in my db9. Having palpitations about driving in London, more so the parking. Can anyone recommend places to stay near a tube or central that will look after your car with decent parking arrangements for piece of mind?

First, it’s not as bad as you think. I drive my Aston into central London most weeks (yesterday and today this week) and it is fine.

Secondly, what day of the week and where in London are you aiming for?

Thanks Greg.

I will pm you about the day. Aiming for anywhere that is not a nightmare to drive to and within a short taxi fare to central london.

Thanks everyone. It’s reassuring that there is so much good choice, q park seems to be a bit of a trend? There are some in leeds and I have always found them tight with high curbs and narrow spaces, always avoided. Must be better down south.

By way of an update for anyone who comes across this thread on searches.

I parked at the q park St Johns Wood. Oh my god it was tight, not what I was expecting. Very surprised to see a few very nice motors parked up including a v12vs under a cover using two spaces up smile. I would certainly think twice about parking there again as this morning I couldnt get into my car on account of some wker having put their Honda HRT thing within a few inches of my driver’s door. Why people are so moronic escapes me, there were plenty of empty bays with no cars around and said tt’s driver’s door was on the same side as mine so I really don’t get it. After a lot of swearing I managed to squeeze into the passenger side and fold myself up enough to get across the cabin. Chiropractor will be delighted.

Then to top it off the q park prepay ticket would not work, so after much grunting (rather hungover tbh) at the assistance speaker at the exit I was able to escape.

Sorry to hear that - I gave it a thumbs up previously. You’re right about the tight spaces, but the deeper underground that you park, the emptier it gets. Other than the Macca 650 parked opposite, mine was virtually the only car in that part of the car park. I suppose time of day and day of the week make a difference, but my advice certainly is to park far away from the entrance.

PS - I can never understand why some people always seem to insist on parking right next to another car, even in a half-empty car park.

Thanks, its just one of those things. I parked on level 2, well away from the entrance and where there were hardly any other cars parked. People eh? Lol.
