1000th Vanquish

Not exactly exclusive any more...

Aston Martin celebrated a significant moment in July when the 1000th V12 Vanquish came off line at its Newport Pagnell facility.

The Tungsten Silver car was completed on Monday, July 7th 2003 and is now being tested and checked prior to being shipped to a customer in Japan. Production of Aston Martin’s flagship model began in September 2001, since then interest from around the world has resulted in waiting lists of up to 12 months for some customers.

Last year, Aston Martin achieved an all-time high of 1551 cars being delivered to customers in 29 different countries. North America is the single largest export market for Aston Martin (around 35%) followed by the UK, Germany, France and Switzerland.

"It’s a very important occasion for us," said Dr Ulrich Bez, CEO of Aston Martin. "There is huge interest in our company and products around the world and I’m really delighted that the 1000th Vanquish should be going to Japan as this has traditionally been a market where our customers are very loyal to the brand."

All Aston Martin sports cars continue to be built individually to the exact specification and requirements of every customer, offering an infinite choice of bespoke body colours and upholstery schemes. During the past 12 months Vanquish models have been supplied in almost 80 different exterior and 40 interior colour specifications.

What do they mean? It is still exclusive to me, it is one of my favourite cars and a good one.
