Hi folks,

time for a big decision. I've loved my vantage which I've owned from new. It's an 07 plate car with only 8800 miles in showroom condition. I just got a quote off my dealer for 51k trade in.

Problem is will I regret it. Our new jag xf is a fantasticallly accomplished tourer, but it is rather dull to drive. Thing is , I barely get to use the vantage now I have young baby too.

I almost made my mind up yesterday until I was passed by a succession of astons, all the same colour as my own.

Should I take this as a divine sign from above or do I chop it in as a deposit for a family home.....

I just don't know what to do!!!!

Hehe,

I can always rely on you m8 wink

one option was to be astonlesd for around 18-24 months then pickup a v8 or db9 that's taken the initial depreciation hit. I might be able to return to the marque with a newer spec car for little extra dosh?

Is the 51k against some other car?

That seems like a decent offer to me depending on the details...

Only you know if you'll miss it too much. But if you really need something with more seats, you'll undoubtedly find yourself using it less and less I would think (and you haven't used it much as it is! Mine's the same age and has 25k+ miles on it).
I recently traded in my civic type-r daily driver for a jag xf diesel. The 51k is the buy back figure. Still a good deal?

So 'the XF is rather dull to drive'....pipe and slippers, I told you so wink

I see the problem is not the Aston at all, it's you. You must take more time out for yourself and drive the Aston to work every day, surely you don't take the wife and little one there do you?

See...problem solved...next! smile
I work in dagenham. It'll be set alight before I even get my lunch!! As for my other place of work in chingford - well every car I've had including my new xf :x has been vandalised there.

Sob.,..

Well I've just agreed the deal with grange brentwood. Car is going in the following saturday.

I feel v v sad today. I waited for this car for two years ever since the concept was announced and it drove me to work as hard as possible for it. After owning it for as long I've waited, it's going to a new home......

Guess there is a lot of sentiment attached to that car...

My wife, a non-petrolhead is over the moon about it. She suggests "we get one of those practical 4 seater sports cars like a Golf GTi".

God i feel murderous and suicidal in equal measure frown

Tell me I won't regret it for the next 5 years....

If any of you want an absolutely cherished Vantage with 8k mile on the clock, you'll find it over there. Please treat her well *sob*

Thanks guys

The orignal plan was to sell it on anyway but the Market got all scared last year. So I eventually resigned to the idea of keeping it for good. I wonder if I would have been better off not asking for a valuation!!

I've never had a ferrari so I might just pickup a f430 once prices fall following the introduction of the 458....

Oh my!!!

I decided to have a fling with her and drive her to work today. It feels so alive after driving the jag all week...

I'm getting annoyed at all the non-petrolhead comments about getting a ford s max.....

Can't you just keep the Aston and buy her a GTi to shut her up??
she thought that the civic was too fast...

She said she wanted a green car. Like a iq/aygo or a prius...
