Sadly I've let my slot (first one at my dealer!) go. After several drives and much soul searching, it's just not the car for me. Wanted something a bit more 'GT3ish' tbo. Also, at £150k, I can get a lightly used Scud - or a Gen2GT3 AND a GTR. Just too expensive and not quite the right 'feel' for me. Great shame.

PS. A truly fantastic car though. The pick of the Aston range and SO much more than a tweaked V8V. In fact I'd say the engine itself accounts for only 50% of the difference between the two cars.

Certainly they'll be below £100k within 18months/2 years IMO. Beyond that, who knows? I'll even guess that they won't sell all 1,000 UK cars.................

V12 looks great, but having seen the 458 I strongly suspect my next car purchase may be Italian once more.

The 458 does look rather nice I must confess, but more than I am prepared to spend on a depreciating asset, although that won't stop me me drooling over yours though Murph & Pugs biggrinwink
Hi G,

After years of buying and running for six months and flipping for list/near list I'm now a confirmed 'used' car buyer I think. Until the market changes OR something utterly 'I want the first one' comes along. At the moment the 458 and Macca qualify. Oh, and off to pic up GTR next w/e. Sorry - probably not the done thing to mention that on this forum!

Well chaps.. I'm also shaking things up a bit... firstly, I don't think the 458 is such a looker so I'm just not going to even go there and save myself the quandary!

Second, I have been playing with the idea of taking a walk on the dark side for a bit and tasting what Lamborghini has to offer. I'm not overly enamoured with my Aston dealer's attitude towards putting together a good deal for me on either the V12V or a DBS, and I think they've gotten a little too comfortable with me being such a regular customer!

So perhaps what I might consider, is replacing the Vantage with a Lamborghini Spyder now, and giving them something to think about, and then later on replacing my M6 with a DBS or something as a daily... I dunno, right now I've just got no idea! Not a bad dilemna to have though I suppose.
Hi Jus - personally find all current Lambos a bit 'naff' image wise. Hey ho, some people probably don't realise just how hard and stressful it is having to make these decisions! Deposit now down on the Fezza. G/F getting V8Roadster so I can't loose really! Quite right re your dealer - make the bugger work. Been to the Leopard Lounge recently - I never did get there this winter. Will do later this year though.

Aston shout where's my invite biggrin
Grant, that's a good point. It would appear the overseas dealers carry out quite a number of corporate events, but here in the UK very little; or am I missing something? grumpy
It's an official Aston Martin Trackday that dealers can book slots on for their invited guests (the dealers have to pay for the slot). They did the same thing at the Donnington Trackday, for which Pugsey was invited along IIRC ?

In this instance, it's not a corporate event (as such) and the UK/overseas have exactly the same deal smile
