Anyone know a good solicitor?
Discussion
Have just bought a Vanquish and the car has, shall we say, a little problem! Having read up on the internet with regards to the non-Aston Martin franchised dealer (why oh why i didn't prior to the purchase i'll never know!?) i've come to the conclusion that i'll be wasting my time trying the "polite" route. I have an excellent solicitor already but ideally i'd like to find someone a little more ruthless.
gearbox/transmission, rumbling/grinding noise/feel in reverse/1st/2nd, can hear it and also feel it through the accelerator and has jumped into neutral a few times too - am livid with the dealer as this is the second car they've supplied that in my view is not fit for purpose in under four weeks.
am perhaps more angry with myself for not Googling the dealer first as their track record would've put me off straight away!

thanks Michael, appreciate your comments. At the moment i'm a little seething to say the least but have already made enquiries to have the car transported back to the UK, given to an Aston dealer to be gone through with a fine toothcomb, get the lowdown and then hand it over to a good solicitor. Next time i'll be a little more careful when buying a car...!
thanks for the feedback, to answer the questions...
a) the car is an 02 vehicle
b) i did test drive the car and although the box was a little 'clunky' at the time.
c) i'm aware of the factory upgrade to earlier cars and am happy to have this done but i'm of the opinion the problem is a little deeper with this car.
d) i'm particularly annoyed as two weeks prior to getting the Aston i bought a Cayenne from them which had a number of problems even after I specifically asked them to service, MOT and check the car for any issues prior to me taking the car away. I returned the car to them and wasn't happy to have the problems addressed but was informed that i could part/ex it in against the Aston - losing nearly £4k in the process! Due to time constraints i felt i wasn't in a position to argue and accepted the trade in - big mistake! Now it would appear I have a car with even bigger issues than the Cayenne had.
e) I'm speaking to an Aston approved dealer to have the car taken back to them and fully checked over and any faults rectified by the Aston dealer and the bill picked up by the garage that sold me the car as I now don't trust this garage to do any required work satisfactorily.
f) I've been advised to put a complaint in to the RMIF regards the conduct of the garage so far.

thanks for the feed back folks, it's much appreciated.
After some thought, deliberation and chatting to a few solicitors i've decided on the following course of action.
1) to give the dealer sufficient chance to remedy the issue/s with the car. To this end a transporter was due to pick the car up and return it to the dealer last Thursday. The transporter didn't turn up and not even a phone call to explain. Not exactly a good start but let's see what this week brings.
2) Assuming the transporter does at some point turn up and the car gets back to the dealer, once they've rectified the issues the car will go 5 minutes up the road to the nearby Aston Martin franchise to be fully checked over.
3) Assuming all's well then fine, no problem ;-)
4) If all's not well, then this is where things may get interesting. At the moment a friend of mine is setting up a simple website with merely a homepage, updates and possibly a forum section. It's live but hidden at the moment. He's pretty good at this and knows exactly whats needed for the website to show up in all searches for the dealer in question.
I'll leave it to the imagination on what the content is likely to be.
Why chase them, when they can chase me.

michael - no they haven't, last thursday was the date, no-one showed and no phone call to say why. The person dealing with it wasn't in until today. I managed to speak to him today and he doesn't know why it didn't turn up! I'm always calling them, very rarely do i ever get a call-back. These are the things that are winding me up more than anything. When you spend a reasonable amount of money with a company you expect some sort of service back. I wasn't expecting a perfect car, i just want a car that works and for the dealer to uphold their side of the bargain. I don't think that's much to ask for but having trawled the internet and come across a fair amount of negative feedback along with speaking to one or two people in the business i'm beginning to suspect it maybe. Yes, i should've checked beforehand and normally I do but I had a very limited timeframe when originally purchasing and this has partly been my undoing.
icepop - next time you spend £44k at a dealer, get f'all service and two cr@p cars from them in the process, tell me just what type of solicitor you'd be asking for? Or is it only on an Aston site where someone might think this is unreasonable?
no answer from the dealer on why the transporter didn't arrive and no call back in over a week.
