I bet you get to drive one before me and I work for the bloody company lol
Speaking to the salesman yesterday, he said they took one around Brands last week. The salesmen were driven three or four laps and they said it was very good, but he's a salesman trying to sell me one so he'd be a chump to say anything else, wouldn't he? I'm expecting more of a nimble coupe with kiddy seats in the rear rather than a 'sports car' as such. I have no need for the rear seats, thankfully, but it'd be nice to have somewhere to chuck a bag or coat without having to go to the boot.
After the TVR, most cars in my price bracket seem a little staid.
I popped down to take a quick squint at it in the flesh...
I have to say I wasn't as pleased as I'd hoped to be. The press and brochure photos make it look great but in the metal I was a little disappointed. It's a little bit more pedestrian than I'd expected and doesn't really jump out at me like my 350Z did/does. I'm not put off by any means and eager to drive it next week.

I've not been following the threads very closely, but there seems to be a bit of disappointment with a perceived lack of power. I'm not too concerned as I'm not looking for a traffic light rocket, just a modern sports coupe that'll allow me to enjoy the twisties.
Anyway, does no one think there'll be a hot version next year, or maybe further down the line? I'd be surprised if there's not, pretty much every launch comes out with the 'basic' spec but invariably a 'type R', 'type S', GTi, whatever model comes out a little later.

Just back from test drive.
Really quite liked the whole thing, even though it was an auto. As everyone has said, the driving position and steering are just right and turn in pin-sharp. Almost signed on the dotted line there and then; decided to wait and pop back tomorrow once I've had a chance to sleep on it.
The only negative was the sound being piped into the cabin - just silly. It's just not throaty enough to make a decent noise - it sounds like a sound effect piped through a tinny speaker. I'm hoping it can be sorted but I'm sure I could live with it if need be. The octagonal/nut like heater/AC switches are a bit twee too.
Hoping they'll do a decent trade-in on my zed to make life easier. If they do, I think I'll go for it.

Did your garage give you a price indication on the JBL speaker package?
I'm afraid not. It's not something I'm interested in so didn't ask. Didn't even notice it on the options till afterwards anyway. ETA fix quoting. Duh!
