When I was trying to find quotes for the Jspec these are the people who would at least give me a quote:

A-plan
Elephant
Admiral
Bell Direct

God I HATE insurance companies.

I've just had another chat with GSI.

Declared all mods. Have now discovered that if someone jacks the car up and nicks my wheels, they replace them with standard items.

Which is not only unethical as far as I'm concerned, but also illegal I think.

Bugger that - It's still too slow!

SO what happened today with the Soupy?

Loss of traction and direction!

First time, out of a T-junction, big oversteer, caught it ok.

Second time, overtaking a truck, foot down, both turbo's spooling, LAIRY powerslide (slight curve on road, good vis).

New one: straight slip road, wheelspining up to 100mph!

Each occasion the TCS was on, and i had over estimated the grip levels.

The Supra traction control is generally regarded as useless and in certain circumstances dangerous.

Assuming you have a pre 97 jap version of the car you have the worst TC of the model ranges.

I have a UK spec car and had the frankly outstanding Racelogic traction control shortly after buying the car. The TC is switchable for differing levels of slip or disabled if you want to fool around.

A fair few Supras will meet a sticky end over the winter months, sudden loss of traction from the rear end reulting in big repair bills and written off cars.....go careful

Not sure what kind of spec you want but the basic unit is £645 from racelogic excluding VAT & delivery. To which you can add data logging & Launch Control. The website also contains a list of dealers that can sell & fit the unit if you don't want to.

What tyres are you running the soupe on Gaz?
Can heartily recomend Good Year Eagle F1's.They deffo instill a bit more confidence-(for me & R33,that is ),in a weighty car.Excellent levels of grip.
Good to see your braking etc upgrades, wise, wise choice.
Couple of questions on the ceramic pads.I expect you're still bedding them in,so might be a bit early to tell;do they have the same feel?, (I've heard they can lack feeling at first & take some getting used to).Any noticeable shrugging off of speed any quicker? Are they the ones that glow red & flame a bit when driven with spirit?-cool effect
