Was thinking of a 370z nismo as well as an e92 m3 or going back to a z4m. I know youve had all 3 how does the 370 compare. I was a little disappointed with a 350 i drove many years ago felt a bit heavy and lacking character.mc50 said:

But my 370Z has some mods on it to really bring it alive(full custom exhaust/HFC's/Stillen Gen 3 intakes), whereas the Z4M/M3 were standard.
The brakes are better on the 370 than both the beemers, and I also much prefer the manual gearbox in the 370 to the manuals in the beemers. The chassis is the best by some margin in the M3 though, and the ride/handling is a cut above the other two in the M3.
The ride/handling in the 370Z is far better(for me) than the Z4M was, but I can still pick some faults with the 370 in that regard. Strangely the 370 also feels more torquey than the other two, but the 370 has been mapped so it picks up really well at low revs(very unlike most other NA engines I've experienced).
I think with the 350Z/370Z you have to look at them as more GT like than sports like, and they are pretty heavy cars and they prefer long sweeping bends instead of the tight and twisty stuff. Overall though I love my 370 and I really enjoy the noise and the driving experience for sure.
Hope that gives you a bit of an idea.

I really enjoyed watching his review. He did make me laugh when he told the car to shut up because of the noise! I think he would also hate how loud mine is too, because mine is really droney/boomy. I don't mind though because I really like it loud...I can blame having a Cerbera with a factory sports exhaust on it for that!

Not only that but the market has changed. People no longer want small coupes like the 370Z, TT etc because they want sodding SUV’s / crossovers.
My wife and I have had 350 and 370z in the past. He only thing that puts me off buying one is the lack of DAB and carplay integration. I imagine it’s probably quite easy to retrofit though.
But ultimately having had a 370z in the past I’m not sure I would go for another. Fantastic car that it was.

The 370z is an odd thing, it looks great but feels heavy and inert to drive, the rear suspension really struggles to cope on bumpy roads if you push it hard (huge heavy wheels and limited suspension travel due to the stupid large wheels causing this).
An old 944 turbo or 968 3.0 would simply disappear off down a twisty bumpy road leaving the 370z driver to wonder where it went.
But it sounds nice and is nice to sit in, has plenty of go, just not as good as it should be, and my 350z was a better track car than the 370 which feels heavy in comparison (and yes the 350z already felt heavy).

I didn't think mine was too bad in this regard at first, but then I checked the tyre pressures and they were fairly low. I then put the correct pressures in and it isn't very forgiving on its 19" wheels now for sure. rallycross said:

They do have a heavy feel to the controls - I believe that is deliberate (though the car is also a bit weighty at just under 1500kg). Certainly it is not a car that you drive with your fingertips like many modern cars. Not sure which 370z you owned/drove but there were significant changes to the suspension over its life - particularly on the 2012/3 facelift. On my GT the ride on the 19" wheels is surprisingly good over rough roads and it is quite capable of soaking up potholes without too much deflection. There is a bit of tyre noise though due to the wide tyres and minimal rear soundproofing.
As far as the wheels go, yes they are large (19") but they aren't overly heavy on the GT spec. The forged Rays come in at 10.5kg (Fr) and 10.8kg (Rr) which seems to be fairly light for the size, certainly similar or lighter than equivalent Porsche wheels. That's not to say it wouldn't be left behind by that Porsche, just that I am not sure the wheel weight is the culprit.
I bought my Nismo in 2014 and ran it as a daily until March this year when I retired it as a daily driver and got a new Juke to do the commute. Along with the 350z I had for about 5 years before it - I have about 11 years in Zed cars as daily drivers. I guess many have very mixed feelings towards the car. It along with the 350z are compromised cars, not perfect, but they have a personality, they become a real part of your life. After 6 years of the 370z even today people come up and talk to me, take photos - people have a real soft spot for the Zed.
It is a sad day, but the press have got their way, they have been trying to kill it off for the last 4-5 years. Give it 5 years and the same press will be running articles comparing it against this that and the other and saying why don't they build cars like this anymore. The same press who have been saying - its too old you can get 500bhp out of a 2ltr now but missing the point looking at the figures doesn't give you the full picture of owning the car and the feelings that come with it.
Reliability - do you know in 6 years I have had a new Battery and had to fix a clicking rear axle. That's it. Service, Fuel and go. Yes, the Juke has a lot more tech - hell it pretty much drives itself. But getting back in the zed there are no constant alarms, warnings, flashing lights - it just sits there does its job and still gives you a great smile. The gearbox is agricultural, but it reminds me in a small way of the TVRs of the late 90's early 2000's.

That's a mega looking Zed. Very nice. Did you get it mod'd or did you do the changes while you had it. I regretted getting rid of the 350z - not least having looked after it someone drove it into a wall a few weeks after I traded itThis was the 50th Anniversary at Silverstone Classic last July which was a lot of fun we had I think about 40 cars between the various years - I was following a Roadster with a very (very) loud exhaust and I have a Valved system so I am not quiet. Spacers (can’t remember the brand possibly eibach)

Arkgrip is exhaust (That is a piece of artwork. It’s utterly stunning to look at and sounds perfect but very very expensive)
Remapped by Seven Vally Motorsport including 3 switchable maps one being a security map (effectively a map that never opens the injectors so it won’t start). Handy for if your leaving it somewhere for a while.
Around 1:35 on that video I think is my wife’s old car. White convertible, automatic 370z with black bonnet vents I can’t imagine there are many with black bonnet vents. I removed the Arkgrip and sold it on. It’s a bit jumping around not giving long enough views of the cars but I’m 99% it’s my wife old car.

Syncro Change - I have had on since the day I bought the car. Some people don't use it, but I just let the car deal with the revs, it blips which with the exhaust on loud I find funny. It's the XR3i in me I will be honest.
When we did Milbrook it really did come into its own on the circuits and the few times I have got that perfect gear change it feels really special. It makes me look like a better driver than I really am.
The good thing about the Zed if it's on - it's on next time you start the car and if it's off its off. You don't have the mess around each time.
Worth trying, so many other cars have come along with it but the Zed had it in 2009.
