R8 vs. GTR?
R8 easily.
R8's the daddy at the mo in terms of desirability. The nissan may end up being an NSX. High competence, low desirability.
If what the press are saying Nissan are targeting this at the 60k region (R8 is another 30%) and it will have around 60bhp over the R8.R8 vs. GTR?

I think it looks great. And as was stated above really like that it looks a lot like the concept, but it has taken long enough to get from concept to production. They seem to keep rolling the car out to keep the press excited about it. I just hope that it comes to the US well under 100K.
If what the US magazines have been saying ends up being correct, it should come in at well below US$100K. They keep saying that it will be about the same price as a base 911, or around US$70K. As always, we'll only know for sure once the official price is announced.Miguel

I'd rather the GTR any day. I prefer the looks and no doubt the performance will be better too.R8 vs. GTR?

Why stress about attending the launch to drive it?
If its even a small step forward from the previous techno-marvel, it will probably drive itself.
Have you driven a GTR? Id hardly describe it as driving itself, techno gismos or not! If its even a small step forward from the previous techno-marvel, it will probably drive itself.
Id like to though, to decide for myself. Anyone want to lend me one?
should our paths cross at an airfield event or the likes I'm happy to let a select few folks who've never driven a skyline try mine out provided they're remotely sensible and trustworthy, and on the condition they don't take the pish by abusing it excessively of course

there has been an imported skyline near me since 2004 which looks the same as a 350z bar slightly different front, doesnt look much different to that imo
Just minus the chassis, ATESSA-PRO, 300cc extra capacity, 2x turbos, bespoke gearbox and a fair bit of other performance goodies.308mate said:

I was under the impression that Japanese makers don't like packing their cars with that much power, most powerful ones I'm aware of from standard are the Evo 340's.
