Why not ?

Fit an adapter and you can use whatever oil you want in the sump.

He is talking about a COFS (Clean Oil Feed System).

For the S1 you can get a kit which allows the engine to inject whatever oil you want into the engine via an external reservoir instead of using the sump oil. Which means you can use a fully synthetic engine oil, that doesn't need to burn inside the engine.

For example: https://www.ryanrotaryperformance.com/shop/rrp-cle...

Unfortunately for R3 owners, no one does a kit for us as Mazda made a few changes between the S1 and R3 systems.

Ah, OK.

I read up on the COFS/SOHN kit before I got my car, they are great for the S1.

I've got an R3 and as you say, they are not compatible with my engine.

I just give a squirt of two stroke into the petrol tank on every fill up to aid rotary lubrication
