Advice on buying used MR2 (current shape)

My daughter has set her heart on an MR2 and we are going to look at one this evening. Its 51 reg with around 30K miles on. Leather interior and air con.
Apart from the usual things to look out for when buying any seconhand car are their any things specific to the MR2 we need to check.
Any help from PH'ers would be much appreciated.

Heading over to look at the car now. Rather suspect that the overriding factor in purchasing will be " How good do I look in this car?" However thats what daughters do, and hopefully dads tend to be more intereested in the pre-cats etc etc.

Looked at car last night. Guy seemed really keen to sell and offered £500 more than anyone else as part ex for her current car. That started me thinking that all might not be 100%. Car drove fine and no white bits could be seen from the exhaust but he was really cagey about service history. Basically there was none. No service booklet no dealer history, he had baught it from auction and there was no documentation with the car was his story. So ended up walking away. Daughter very unhappy with me as she loved it, colour was perfect went with her hair etc etc. My view was very simple, might be a good car but with no history who knows and 12 - 18 months down the line when she wants to sell who would want it without any history.
So back to the drawing board and will head off in search again this coming weekend.
