Towing with a scooby

I'm starting racing next year and planned to use the scooby to tow the race car. It'll weigh about a tonne all told. I'm a bit concerned about the mpg though.

Do any of you guys tow with yours and how do you fare?

If so, I have used my wagon to tow a small trailer. It's OK for that but I would be wary of going upto a car trailer with a ton on board particularly over any distance. I am not sure it would feel too stable.

It should be ok. It's less than the 85% recommended maximum.

Indeed My best mpg has been with two bikes on the roof

Where did you get your tow hitch from?
