Is it dealers standard practice
Discussion
Just trying to find out if i'm getting the run around here!!!
Ordered my first (of hopefully many BM's) nearly 2 months ago, it arrived in the dealership 3 weeks ago now...as you would expect I'm eager to pick it up!
First of all they forgot about the plate transfer, took all the paper work in a couple of days after it arrived in the dealership then the sales man I was dealing with went of a 2 week holiday (due back tomorrow).
I've been chasing them for a week trying to find out when I can finally pick the car up but with no answers given.
Is it that you can only deal with one man or am I being unlucky in that they know they have a deal and aren't bothered how long I have to wait??

Can take upto two weeks now for a cherish transfer due to the DVLA local offices being afraid of hard work!..........Ordered my first (of hopefully many BM's) nearly 2 months ago, it arrived in the dealership 3 weeks ago now...as you would expect I'm eager to pick it up!

You should however have another point of contact to speak to etc, put a call in to the New car salesmanager and ask him what is happening.....
Was just a little supprised more than anything! Kinda thought when buying a the next level up of car had hoped not to have little problems like this to get me disheartened before I even pick up the thing!
Never bought a new car befor but a few nearly new (vauxhall & toyota) and dealers couldn't do enough, week turn around of car etc. Mayb I was just setting my sights a little high, it wasn't certainly a different impression when deciding whether or not to purchase!

Its a sad fact that the higher up the dealer food chain you go the worse service you seem to get! I have always got wonderful service from Toyota when dealing with them on my other halfs car...BMW dealers are always a disgrace - in fact i had to threaten to call the police once when a BMW main dealer tried to charge my insurance company over a grand for work i proved they didn't do! Land Rover dealers are also utterly shocking and don't even get me started on Porsche!

Vauxhall & Toyota have off the shelf type stock so it's different to BMW. As donut said speak to the sales manager he'll know what's going on.Never bought a new car befor but a few nearly new (vauxhall & toyota) and dealers couldn't do enough, week turn around of car etc. Mayb I was just setting my sights a little high, it wasn't certainly a different impression when deciding whether or not to purchase!

The service you get can vary from dealership to dealership and no brand is immune, you cant just say it's a BMW fault others are bad aswell.MrSnow said:

So is donut the best salesman to buy off...
Yeah, he is up near the top.- blushes* - the majority of sales people within the network are nice genuine folk, met many over the last 8 years and there are very few that I wouldn't deal with if I where a customer.
