How many 8 series owners Onboard?
Discussion
Strange to change the expensive and slower wearing lower arms and not the 'consumable' upper arms. Are you sure it was the aluminium ones that were replaced?
Also, look at the steering idler arm. A common and often forgotten place to find wear in the steering and very cheap and easy to swap. Wear anywhere in the linkage can promote steering shimmy. e31's are very sensitive indeed. Is it induced particularly when braking from speed?
Spot-on Talkwrench. I've also found that aftermarket wheels can cause shimmy, so use hubcentric rings if available.

Was it here or somewhere else that I read today that keeping the batteries charged by means of a trickle charger connected via the under-bonnet terminals is actually only charging one of the batteries?!
So how do you keep the other one charged?
Definitely not the case! The under bonnet terminals will charge both batteries. All my 850's are tendered this way and I have, in the past, charged both batteries simultaneously from completely flat using these terminals. So how do you keep the other one charged?

thanks for ur advice Talkwrench, appreciated
Im going to have the engine mounts checked out with it goes into my local 8 series nut techy for brake fluid replacement and belts session.
any known downsides to removing the central resonators in the exhaust system?
I am having no luck tracking a 8series OBC down, anyone know if its a unit common with another model? (apparantly not the identical looking unit from an E36!)
In fact it seems nigh on impossible to find an 8 series in a breakers, perhaps they are cared for more than other BM's!
Hi, for help on your pixel proble with the OBD, try surfing on eBay - look for Pixelarzt as seller - he offers a repair service on an exchange basis - you send him your dud unit and he'll fix it or exchange it. I used him last year, good service, no problems. Usual no affiliation blah blah.Im going to have the engine mounts checked out with it goes into my local 8 series nut techy for brake fluid replacement and belts session.
