Yes mine came to me with the mv2 sport wheels in 8 x 18 with 245 40 18 run flats all round. For the record I have never managed a clean get away from the lights using full throttle. Although this whole year I have been running Winter tyres in 245 40 front and 265 35 rear. I also didn't find DSC mode until mid way through this year - madness I know! Hopefully at some point I'll get to try the 275 MPSS rears with DSC and report back.ATM said:

I must say, I seem to get away fastest from a standing start with about quarter throttle on my narrow winters. When it hooks up, it really goes.
Full throttle is just traction control for ages...

With DTC engaged I dont get any blinking light and with the window down I have heard some 'controlled' wheel spin. So I think DTC allows you to hook up with some slip without ruining the party. I now have DTC on all the time unless I forget to hit the button.

I've recently noticed an annoying gremlin in my boot. The glass window seems to keep popping open at random. It can only be stopped if I lock the car. I suspect it is a fault in the lock itself but weirdly happens as I start the engine. If it pops before I get chance to hit lock I have to get out and go round to the back to close it - how annoying!
Had this on my 550i, very annoying. It was sorted under warranty, but it's a £20 part and very easy to do this supposedly. Google for "e61 tailgate microswitch", common problem. ATM said:

Slight dink in front spoiler, slight dink in rear bumper (assuming trailer hitch incident), inside is clean and the seats look like they've never been sat in. Sill inserts are probably the worst part of the car, and it could probably do with a good polish. Comes with space-saver and detachable tow-bar, which was one thing I needed.
The Logic 7 is a big step forward, especially with the hard drive, USB and Aux-in and the surround sound!
Its not as refined/quiet overall as the saloon, but I've never found an estate that is, and there is a LOT of tyre noise (Goodyear Eagles all round iirc, its dark outside now, and raining so I'm not going to check). On the plus side they do have plenty of life left in them... But maybe that might turn out to be a bad thing . Manual changes using the paddles are a bit clunky, like a badly executed change with a manual trans, just slamming the clutch in, but in D it changes a lot lower around town than the 545 and just as smoothly.
Sadly I didn't get to witness a cold start, but its sounds OK at idle, but doesn't seem to have the growl that the 545 has under hard accel, maybe the valve is U/S. The engine bay is generally clean, but with signs of a small oil leak underneath the VANOS units (RH front of engine) and the power steering reservoir is covered in crud.
The trader has done an oil service on it (or so he says), and the drive home (100 miles up the M5) was hassle free and cruising at, ermmm, a decent lick, gave 26.6 mpg indicated. Fingers crossed it doesn't turn out to be a lemon, I'd like to keep it for a while.

Ok so you switched from a 545 saloon to the more superior 550 estate?Having spent more time in it today, it isn't as smooth all round as the 545, transmission wise. It has a habit of slamming into first just before you come to a halt when breaking, that creates quite a jolt. And it takes a while to think about dropping a cog away from 1st/2nd gear crawling: eg Pootle round a roundabout behind a bus, try to accelerate and it seems to cough (metaphorically speaking), lurch and then launch.
And its not as linear as the 545, which was constant acceleration, this has a distinct jump at about 3k rpm - thats neither good nor bad, just an observation.
