Yup

So we'll see. Chap is HPI checking my car tonight.

Been told dealer has another customer on a 11am test drive tomorrow, so we'll see.

Dealer HPI'd my car too and turns out they would have happily sent me the report to send to my interested party. Bugger.

Might ask for it anyway so I can forward to other interested parties.

If you want this 135i, why have you not put a deposit down to secure it?
Because I have never sold a car and wanted to not get stuffed on a PX value

Might go for it the more I think about it

I have already driven and viewed the car, so I think it's a £1000 to buy now.

Not sure re refund status at this stage.

If I understand correctly, you will go for this car if the private buyer takes yours. If s/he makes decision by 11am then put a deposit down on that basis with the dealer before the other guy drives and so get car taken off market. But agree deposit refundable if your sale falls through.

They might refuse, but what's to say tomorrow's customer even shows up. I've always found dealers keen for deposits, and refundable ones at that.
Pretty much my thoughts. They've been pressing for PX, but that's not going to happen.

Apparently customer tried to test drive tonight, but traffic and an accident on M3 postponed it until tomorrow

I've emailed the chap interested in my car, mainly due to I have 4 further enquirers and a firm off from volz dealer.

I prefer debadged, so was pleased mine was.

From my AU experience, get them to MOT it if not offered. And get a copy of AUC report and check nothing untoward mentioned. Shouldn't be, but its belt and braces. They offered me "back to invoice price insurance", too expensive , so I got 3 years for 122£ with ALA.

Covers me for any difference between an insurance pay out and price I paid in the event of a total loss.
Yeah all the insurance extras = £2500! Err just no, tyre insurance, GAP, scratch insurance, paint and all that.. So in reality no kick backs for them. They offered discounts on a roof rack and bike rack that we asked about. I've asked for a discount for fitting cruise control, but they're not budging, so phoning the other dealers for quotes.

Yup MOT due in Nov, so will be done. I've asked for CBS report and AUC as wasn't presented when I viewed. So I want to see full report.

I'm def thinking of asking it to be debadged. Same as my 123d I had, had little M badges all over it, just no. It's not a M.

Not collecting now as they can't do the Saturday now after indicating they could. Saturday's not good, but I'm like f*ck sake I'm spending a lot of money.

They've asked me to attend during the week, my initial thought was stuff it and give me the £1000 back.

I'm still waiting for the AUC and status of the CBS.

Asked about updating maps on the CIC, "don't think that can be done" err pull the other one and get it done.

Might pull the deal, getting no response in requesting current status for CBS and AUC.

Left them with items to answer, deposit of £1k dropped, but really...!

So might say, refund and I'll wait for another or find something else.

I walk to work, so don't actually NEED a car.

Just call in when you get the chance. Unless either document, under scrutiny, causes concern in which case - yes - get refund and pull deal, they will give them to you before you transfer balance.

The car is no longer on the AU database, so I guess they deem it sold and are sloppy in customer service. But that alone doesn't mean the car is shoddy.

Unless you just want out of the deal, stick with a bit longer because otherwise you could be in the same situation with another car.
Yes it's left AUC & auto trader but not piston heads. Would have thought they would have called, but nope. So have order for to sign, but just on my desk now.

Suspect they've lost interest due to insurance or finance being sold

Dealer is 40 miles up M3, so won't be dropping in.

My R32 is viewed this weekend and chap happy at asking if car ok etc.

Will do a deal on my R first and then maybe take Mrs fiesta back to dealer to view, find out answers I want and yay or nay.

Local garage who is interested in my R said I'm nuts to sell 09 R32 with all kit I have.

Also said drive the DCT7 as very good mmm. They spoke about M3s but big bucks in my view, owning and running.

Walks v8 m3 and the like.
I managed to get one with Nav, heated leather, sunroof (love this), and logic 7 speakers etc, annoyingly though my job has gone from meaning i do about 400 miles a month to sometimes 500 a week! so its racking up quickly going to get a second car in the new year, although I have averaged 29mpg over the last few thousand and thats a mix of commute and fun.

Prices don't seem to be moving much either which is good. And its rare I find not many people know what it is. Maybe it should be included in the sleeper thread?
Sunroof would be v nice, summer + straight 6

I'm not sure what being a passenger would achieve, take the offer though to hear that v8 smile

I drove DCT M3 b2b with a M135i with ZF 8 speed and DCT does feel very different, to normal auto, as I said in my review more like a racing driver was doing the changes for me.

That's how sport mode (lever to the left) with sport button pressed feels in 335i DCT so there is some comparison, but much better you drive a 135i DCT or the 335i DCT if nearer.

Manual mode is my preference in DCT. You change very quickly, sequentially, you can use paddles if you want, I use them always on very twisty b roads to keep hands on wheel, and it still allows the 'kick down' facility when you want a real serious boost of power, just press your foot down harder smile
Apparently I can drive it.. We'll see.

Still agree 335i DCT a much better comparison.

"I use them always on very twisty b roads to keep hands on wheel, and it still allows the 'kick down' facility when you want a real serious boost of power, just press your foot down harder"

For me the best bit as I do like the both hands on the wheel aspect lol smile

Lol fair comment and err no.

M3 running costs are terrifying compared to 135/335i and the Mrs would have a fit lol.

She wants me to get a fiesta, err no. We already have a 60 plate fiesta.

You loose a bit of headroom with the sunroof......which is a problem if you want to do a track day, as your helmet will be wedged into the roof. Before I ended up buying new, I was looking originally at getting a used 135i 4/5 years ago, and spent nearly 9 months looking as wanted a few specific options, which was proving difficult. Found one that ticked all the boxes, but had a sunroof. I went to dealer for a test drive, and just in case I took my crash helmet with me to check - young salesman thought I was crackers when asking to try car wearing a crash lid laugh
Helmet was wedged into roof with reduced headroom from sunroof, so that was a no-no. Shame, as it was a nice DCT car in white with red interior....and lots of options.

Edited by aeropilot on Friday 23 October 00:19

I have worn a crash helmet in mine with no issues but I see what you mean. This is exactly why I did not want a car with electric seats because I had seen many complaints that the motors make the seats higher, and people moan that they felt too high in the car! Manual seats go very low. Makes up the lost headroom I guess.
Also depends how tall you are.
Looking at a 2010 private alpine white too now, fully loaded inc sunroof etc. 28k on clock, Nov 2010 - £18k, but needs to be put on extended warranty
