I'm gonna go for black or the carbon black (bluey/black) with Red Leather interior. Looked amazing on my E-46 M3 and IMHO is stunning....

Snap ! Same here - We have Red at the moment but Carbon Black is Awsome.
I think Carbon Black attracts a higher Price also at Resale time.

A perfect colour combi. I'm also trying to decide on the gearbox. I'd prefer manual but will only keep the coupe until the cab comes out so should probably buy the SMG.
Totally agree with the SMG choice there. I swapped my M5 (E39) for an E46 SMG M3 for a couple of weeks and (whilst thinking the car inferior to the M5) loved the paddle shift. Couldn't see the point in having the 6 different speeds of gear change mind, what's wrong with fastest, and faster?
Is the new M3 packed with techno like the E60? Will it take you an hour to decide what settings you want beore leaving the driveway?
Cheers

I'm sure it will be the same and that means, sorry Jeremy, that it is simple. On the day you buy the car, set up the M button with your desired settings. Then you need never make a decision again about the car's settings. The only annoyance is that the cars, M3s and M5s now default to auto when you switch on, so you need to nudge the lever to the right to select manual (it will remember your preferred manual mode). I agree about the multiple settings. My view is that you only need two auto settings, one for witer and another geeral one and two manual settings, town and "go for it".
