I never let a BMW dealership wash my car. Have a joke. It will come back with bodywork worse than it went in. Swirl marks, scratches from dirty sponges and dirty water thats just washed somebodies filthy X5. I ALWAYS request ''No wash or valet thanks''.

Carlos
Carlos, do you use Elms Cambridge? They always made a good job of my coupe when I had it, not sure I would let them loose on the 335d as it is black...

Hi David, thought you had a 5 series? you have a 335d now ?

I dont let any dealership wash her, no way mate. I wont use Elms stortford again after a bad experiance and didnt rectify the situation well enough.

Elms Cambridge so far so good!

Due a service again soon so i will let you know if there upto par ! IMHO

The 5 series was the car I lent him whilst something that was forgotten was fitted to the 335d

hehe

I didn't think you'd ever opt for the kerbed alloy option though......

Trust it's ok now and not rattlin-when-a-rollin?

no rattles but the finish on those alloys is rubbish. I have complained to the dealer and am awaiting a reponse..

Lots of fun though smile

Hows the new job?

Elms Cambridge are great(not). Delivered a car with an incorrectly fitted front bumper with paintwork covered in swirlmarks and then said there was nothing wrong with it. Funnily enough my local dealer could spot the problem immediately. Only people I've had worse dealings with are BMW Customer Service.

0 out of 10 I'm afraid, spent best part of 50k hard earned on a new car and treated like a piece of s..te.

BMW Cust Serv no better. Between them they've put me right off the brand.

Why anyone would want a main dealer "valet" man near their car is completely beyond me.

I've only taken my car to the main dealers once for a job which only took an hour, unfortunately they 'cleaned' it. Never again, covered in scratches, it's horrible.

Got to agree, only Yesterday I was at my Dealers Parts counter, on my way back to my car two were giving a new 3 series a once overeekFFS they had a brand stiff Chamois leather on THE FLOOR, &wetting it with the pressure washer!!!!No wonder paint work gets damaged!

I would be more concerned about the quality of service I received at the dealer rather than whether or not the car had been cleaned.
There are a lot of different views here on the board on cleaning your cars too. I prefer, and enjoy, cleaning my car as I am an enthusiast and use the appropriate product for each component, but I completely appreciate the owner who enjoys his/her car but finds cleaning tedious.
For myself, I request NO valeting AT ALL since my local dealer used acid on my bare polished aluminium BBS rims, making the polished alloy go black. I would much rather all the time was spent doing the mechanical work properly.
I see the complimentary valet as a "thank you" from the dealer for giving them the business where time permits, I do not think they are, or should feel, obliged to provide this free service.
