Great cars to drive but recommend that you set aside a 'pool' of funds for the things that will invariably go on the car.
What went wrong on yours?
I have a SWB 750i. I bought it last May. The dealer selling it spent £2,500 on it before I bought it as it had problems with the ABS. I then drove 10,000 miles in it and took it for a service. The garage gave the whole car a once over and found that the shocks were leaking and the bushes needed replacing. £4,000 gone. Then a month ago the radiator fan exploded on me. I'm not saying it was a large failure, but it went with enough force to punch holes through the bonnet. Needless to say it did a far amount of damage under the bonnet too. Fortunately this is covered by warranty and insurance, but estimated cost is another £3,500. I also have a problem with the washers and the cruise control has packed up.

So in summary, great cars, but if you get unlucky, they can be very expensive.

1998. 72,000 when I bought it, 85,000 now.
