If you can get a V8 in a moggie, then a V8 into a 3 series has got be be a goer.... Wheres your spirit of adventure?? Mind you, another turbo - hmmmm, why bother on an I6?? V6 I can understand, I6 whats the benefit?

I think that 2 turbos offer a better spread of power, small turbo for instant boost then a larger one for more power.
Unless Alpina have installed them 1 per 3 cylinders in which case they must be going for thermal efficiancy or something like that.

Yes it is; the problem is they do it on the new M3; I don't know if the former M3 will have an engine bay wide enough for such an engine...

err. it is. just. Alpina did a B8 4.6 which was a E36 3 series with a 4.6 V8!! 333 hp and god knows how much tourqe!! They can be picked up now for 10 - 15k if you can find one try this!! (long link sorry)
