Thoughts?
I think I prefer the Metallic Estoril Blue over the Alpine White, I have seen both in the flesh. But I do think the Alpine White looks absolutely great, just when it is dirty it looks horrible.
I've gone massively off EB for some reason, not sure why.Thoughts?

You also need to spec the wheel upgrade!
Dash in leather looks great too, especially red (biased!).

My M3 was Alpine White and it was easy to clean and I thought it looked ok even when dirty to be fair, but I personally prefer Estoril Blue out of the two though. Thoughts?

I ordered metallic grey but this is my order of preference
Estoril blue - brings out the lines of the car and looks sporty
Metallic grey - awesome flame effect, lots of depth. Looks different under bright sun versus normal light and still shows lines unlike black
Black - but only with the darker alloys and debadged. Gives it a knight rider look. Don't think this would work too well in summer though and can hide lines

Yikes, lots of boxes ticked there re options....nice mind, but only one I am not keen on is variable steering (plus piano black I have heard scratches easily but could be wrong). Need to see brown leather but could be really nice from picsI have a 428i GC in Mineral grey with golden brown Merino, piano black and brushed aluminium. Also went for the M Sport plus, so bigger wheels, blue calipers, tints and Harmon Kardon. Absolutely cannot fault anything about it, looks, drive and practicality. Had it over a year now and only 5k on the clock!

Is what they say about the white / cream leather true? In that, wearing jeans will mean the colour rubbing off on to the seats?
You do get it a little bit and have got ivory white leather in the 6 series, but for me it's worth that little bit of extra effort because a lighter colour always lifts an interior and makes it feel that bit more special when compared to black leather. Yeah it can do, with very dark overdyed denim anyway, but just wipe it off.
It happens on black too, just you can't see it, it just starts to make it look shiny on black, at least with the lighter leather you see it and sort it quickly.
This is my X3 at 3 years and 50k miles.....

My C320 estate is all black and it is a bloody nightmare to keep looking clean, it shows all the everyday dirt up so much more, it looks grubby after a few days. Plus all black makes it look cheap imho.

So what you using to wipe it down?
I use engine cleaner in a spray bottle mixed with water, 1 part engine cleaner and 2 parts water.
When leather starts to go hard and shiny it is a build up of dead skin and grease that is the cause, you get that off and you are back to a nice matte finish again.
Plus remember that car leather these days is simply painted, you have a coat of primer then about 3 coats of paint and finally a couple of coats of top coat, so most 'leather' care products just sit on the top anyway, they may look matte for a few days but once you have moved around on that new layer of crap you will simply shine it up again and make it look old.
This was my E Class at 120k miles and 7 years old, this is the bolster which is usually the worst for looking worn...

This was my E350, again just cleaned with a cloth and engine cleaner..

5 litre can from ECP cost me about £5 I think, and last for years.

Hi StJohnI am waiting on delivery of similar spec but with ivory white interior, how do you find the engine? I based my choice on a test drive in a 20d so quite excited to get back into a petrol powered car.

Great tip gizlaroc, thanks for sharing. I've always had black interiors and a lot of friends have been commenting that I've dropped a b
k going for cream interior.

No, harder to keep clean but worth it and looks and feels way nicer insideWhen leather starts to go hard and shiny it is a build up of dead skin and grease that is the cause, you get that off and you are back to a nice matte finish again.

Cream and ivory make the cabin more airy. Unlike red and black though, I feel they're not in keeping with the sporty look of an M Sport. It's kind of like a luxury interior mimicking a Mercedes, but in a BMW body. It's a bit of a mismatch.
I sat in a fully specced 428i black exterior, cream interior. It was bloody nice but I couldn't help feel it had a slight identity crisis. I went for black leather, Estoril blue finisher with hexagonal aluminium. Yes it's the standard spec (=common) but matches the spartan look of the interior. I don't want a luxury car-- imagine the C/E Class cabin in an M Sport. No thanks
Just my opinion and not meaning to upset anyone
Also to add light I didn't choose rear tints. My wife says it looks like a boy racer car with that. I like tints if done right but really think the BMW tints are way too dark. Why don't they lighten them a bit

We all like different things, I think most sport cars tend to have lighter interiors, far more M3's and M4s with light leather than black.
Same with a Ferrari, not many with black leather.

I think if it is sporty it is sporty, doesn't matter what colour the leather is.

That is because you have a black interior, if you had a light interior they don't look anywhere near as dark. ![wink](/inc/images/wink.gif)
I'm being serious though, the tints on my C320 Sport Estate look almost blackout, on my older car with the grey interior you can see the cabin inside still....just.
