Headlight washer?
Good thinking. I’ll do some investigating.
Probably, when I got my current Z4 there was a warning light for lack of washer fluid.

I filled it and the next day there was a big puddle under the passenger side of the front bumper where it had all come out of the washer jet.

Today's issue is a drip from a leaking washer bottle rolleyes - relieved it is nothing too serious.
Probably a split pump or line... Time to get the wheel arch liner off and see what's going on
Thanks for the advice beer

Is it odd that the leak is on the opposite side of the washer bottle (I am positive that is what is causing the leak as the bottle is nearly empty (filled it last week) and the stain on the garage floor is a similar colour to the washer fluid)?

Ah, OK.

As said, headlight washer / piping has failed. Bumper off jobby

I used my horn today to beep at Chris Harris who gave me a thumbs up in return. We were alongside each other at a set of lights at the top of the m32 in Bristol heading to the m4. He was in his lovely dark green M5 CS and I think he may have had an appointment to keep!

Felt like a wally afterwards. Sorry Mr Harris.

He certainly seems taken with it….questioning what is the point of a 911 turbo.

Not seen one in the flesh yet but would like too especially given the reviews they’ve received.

Hang on, you need to tell us more. What's the spec, any pictures?

Removed the gloss back BMW Performance grills I fitted to my F31 a couple of months ago and refitted the standard black and chrome originals, I wasn’t feeling the love for them, I thought it made the car look a bit Chavvy. A very nice 335d in the same spec as mine passed me on the M40 today, like mine it had the M sport plus pack but with the original grill, that helped me make the decision to swap it back over.

Managed to snap a tab off removing them mad

If anyone wants a set (they are the real thing, not eBay lookalikes) message me. They’re only a couple of months old

I keep being told to change my Chrome ones on my black F36 GC to black but you've also made my mind up. I tyhink they're not great on a black car. It's too much

Picked it up after a bit of TLC (2007 E92 330i N53):

Full service inc spark plugs
New front brake pads
Brake fluid change
New valve cover (had the obligatory crack/leak/started burning oil)
Replaced front dampers
Replaced front hydro bushes

Think my wallet now needs some TLC, although this hasn't fixed all of the remaining issues. I may start a new thread for that at some point as despite having read every conceivable resource and forum post on the internet regarding N53 issues, I'm still troubleshooting some of the usual (and some unusual) symptoms.

I still love it though and the above work has tightened it up a fair bit.

Managed to find and fix a vacuum leak on my Dads E83 X3 yesterday.

Getting 50%+ mpg now, will save about £50 in fuel visiting relatives this weekend alone.

After nearly 4 weeks of waiting, I got my M6 back yesterday with new discs and pads all round, new track rod end and control arm..

New front discs were needed as the fronts were warping. This was caused by, believe it or not, the wheel refurb done by the previous owner. Apparently having too much paint on the rear of sheen where it matches the hub can cause excessive heat build up and lead to slight warping of the discs.

If you have juddering under braking and it's not suspension related, and you are struggling to find the cause of it, it's worth checking the rear of the wheels. I never even knew this was a thing!

Picked this up yesterday.

Needs a bit of work to bring it up to standard. The interior is minging and needs a thorough clean. It’s got oyster leather and I’m sure it should be cream.
Mechanically its sound from what I can see and feel when driving. Plus its got full bmw service history (probably never had an air, oil or cabin filter then 🤨)

Needs 2 new tyres for the rear asap. Undecided wether to go Goodyear f1 6 or Michelin ps5.

Only one key. I’ll get one ordered through bmw when the v5 arrives.

If the wether wasn’t so crap I’d be serving it today. Got the oil and filter ready to go.

Interior passenger door pull is a sticky mess. I’ve ordered a replacement off amazon. We’ll see if its any good.

Front towing eye missing. Trying to get one off a breaker in the correct colour.

Rear luggage cover slow to retract and floppy when in position. I’ll see if I can improve it, if not the. Another from a breaker will be on the way.

Sunset is a cracking colour. I’m a dinosaur so prefer the interior of the pre-facelift cars with button and stuff.

LED interior bulbs modernise the older cars in a nice way I think. My 335i felt proper retro with bits halogen bulbs after LED’s in my M140i and 130i.

My tip of the day is to have a couple of spare TPMS valves, one of mine was so corroded they couldn’t wind the insert out. So unfortunately it’s now got a standard valve in until a new one turns up,
